The Brown Cow in Allerdale

Excellent friendly pub with great beer, friendly staff, good unobtrusive music. Popular with the locals. Justin, Julie and the staff do a great job. Snooker table too! My favourite pub in Cockermouth.

From the most ignorant maid iv ever encountered to the worst meal iv ever had and iv eaten in some pretty awful places. We ordered our food at 145pm and it finally came out at 240, yet we were the only people eating but its now very apparent why. Then there was the toilets that resembled that disgusting scene from trainspotting. Avoid this place at all cost.

Friendly staff and local great little pub

Great food, really would suggest the beef burger and the veggie lasagne. Staff are very friendly and it has a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Me and the wife have been many a lunch time and have never had a bad meal to date. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

It had amazing staff i ordered the Mac and cheese and it was the best i have had the table order chips and they were so nice

Friendly and fun pub quiz on a Tuesday night with free sandwiches to pick at. A good selection of local ales and they also stock a few craft beers. The place always looks clean and is really cosy and comfortable.

Had Sunday lunch at Brown Cow in August 2015. Amazing steak pie with huge chunks of beef, what tasted like beef dripping chips, and an essential pourer of extra gravy that I'm proud to say I polished off and went on to my wife's!

Really friendly and professionally run pub in middle of Cockermouth. Best bar food in town, well kept beer and always served with a smile

Lovely welcome, very dog friendly, dog water bowl in the bar.. Dogs were given a treat each.. Food was lovely, wife had the cod I had Cumberland pie.. Throughly recommended..
