Rooms nice and lots of natural light. Great location. Staff are so helpful and lovely. I'm gutted to not give this place 5 stars but the cleaning job done on the rooms was poor in my opinion. I can't comment if this is standard or a one off occasion that this happened.

know Keswick really well as I come here with friends every Autumn for a walking holiday. I decided this year to bring my wife to this lovely Cumbrian Town for a weekend away. When we arrived at the property we found the room to be tiny. It was spotlessly clean and the en-suite well equipped but my wife has claustrophobia and started to panic. The room cost £240 for two nights and I totally understand the rules so I was liable for the full cost however the owners eagerness to get the key back off me and swipe take details of another credit card in case my first one didn’t work was distasteful. We were genuinely upset as we were struggling to find any alternative accommodation due to no availability. They have doubled there money as it was apparent that demand far outstripped availability. In summary I believe that these rooms are overpriced and there are far better rooms available at much better value in some of the fabulous guest houses and B&B’s. I will plan better next time and we will try again.

A nice clean room. Only thing missing was a full length mirror as there was space on the wall behind the door. Great location too as right in the centre of Keswick.

We dropped in for dinner. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and tasteful decor. Our meal was excellent. Goats cheese and salad starter then sausages and mash and a burger. The burger was faultless. Crispy ciabatta type roll and the burger itself full of flavour. Sausage and mash was excellent with a tasty onion gravy and vegetables cooked to perfection. The mains were so big we could have done without the starter. This was simple food cooked well - and at a reasonable price.

We get in, restaurant is empty.. they still give us the worst table. Make sure you like potatoes before choosing this place as this ingredient comprehended 95% of our salmon fishcake and lamb and chicken roast (the word potato is not even mentioned in the dish description). We arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 in the evening. At 7.45 they came for the second time to ask us what desert we wanted, despite the first time we said we would like to wait a few minutes before choosing, as the food (potatoes) arrived all in the space of 20 minutes and our stomachs were begging for a break. 2 stars instead of 1 only because of the music and the 5% of lamb was good. (Chicken was dry and overdone, salmon I can't tell as we could not taste it at all).

We arrived 3pm today and saw menu was served from noon to 5pm. Asked to take seat but had to wait 23minutes before staff member came. We were ready order food but were told kitchen 'had just closed' for an hour . Staff member not bothered that service was said on menu to be 12 to 5pm. So we left. Never to go back.

More than surprised to find only sells lagers - bar one very poor stout. No IPA, bitter, golden, ruby beers? How very odd and can't see a reason why you'd bother, considering the excellent selections around Keswick. Shame. * Checked the beer taps in the images, some excellent ones - but they're not there now??

We stayed here for four nights, for our anniversary. Room was extremely comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent with good quality ingredients and the young man who waited on us was very professional and friendly, he couldn't do enough for the guests. We discovered the downstairs bar on our 3rd day. I felt this could've been better advertised. This was a little gem. Fully stocked, bartender very friendly. We had lunch here and the food was of the same excellent quality as breakfast. We will definitely be booking here again very soon.

Great service, very fast, friendly staff.Nice selection on the menu.Girlfriend had the pork steak, apple and cheese sauce and it was delicious, i had to steal a bit.I had the Cumberland pie which i have never heard of before or seen in any other local pubs, it was delicious and came with spicy potatoes which were also very nice, only criticism is the pie was topped with potato which made for a lot of potato in the meal.Nice selection of wine.Cosy atmosphere.Would definitely return.

We had a couple of drinks in the Cellar Bar which was very comfortable and pleasant. Beers were very good. Dinner upstairs was very good. The seabass special was excellent and the fillet steak pretty good. Service was generally very good even if they looked a little stretched at times.
