Beer value for money, but the food was Luke warm and basically horrible. Table was dirty , my fish and chips felt like it was cook in old oil . The wife’s steak was cold , dry and pepper sauce was tasteless. So for this visit wasn’t the best this time 😦

Mixed grill - must have been days old and reheated. Very poor. Have eaten here a few times over the years out of necessity and it's never good. Such a shame when others in the chain are so much better.

A unique pub in a unique old courthouse location full of character. From drinking in the original cells or dining in the court room. Friendly staff with the usual good choice of food and drinks on the menu.

·

Its a Wetherspoon's so the building has history, its the old police station and court, probably the only place to have a cheap meal and beer in Keswick, most of the other pubs you'll pay a lot more.

Friendly staff. Plenty of room. Lots of alcoves and areas. You can even drink in the cells!

Really nice old building, good to see original features of the courtroom and cells. Food service was OK, food just thrown on a plate with no presentation. The main issue was the later it gets the more of the pub they "closedown" so you keep getting moved. Don't see why they could not just come back and wipe your table/ set up when you're gone. Dont see the point in moving paying customers 3 times just to wipe a table over. Can maybe understand closing down the courtroom area as it's quite separate but then to keep moving you seemed rude and inconvenient.

Probably the worst wetherspoons for service I have ever experienced. Waited well over 50 minutes for an order of 2 bowls of chips and a child's chicken nuggets. When asked at the bar I was told orders were 40 to 50 minutes and when I told the staff I had already waited over 50 minutes to be told probably another 10 minutes. Having asked others in my group we decided to cancel only to be faced with a very abrupt young male behind the bar saying we are busy. No apology whatsoever. If I was told the wait time at point of ordering I wouldn't have bothered. Over an hour for 2 bowls of chips and a nuggets is not acceptable. Where are your customer service skills?

Shocking customer service, again!Ordered two large breakfasts, one with a coffee and one with a diet coke. I was given a mug, and then the young lady left the bar without a word. I presumed the diet coke would be brought over to our table, either straightaway or with our meal. Instead, without our knowledge, the coke was left on the bar. 30 mins later, our food came which was cold. I went over to the bar for the coke, and there it was. I asked for a fresh coke, only to be confronted by a tut and a shaking of the head! If you don't like working there, don't! It's very simple.

The cheif justice of the Common pleas if a large scale pub and says it has a food saftey rating of 5 stars. The food is good and the drinks are cheap. My only problem was that the staff did not clean the tables as regular as they could of in which case alot of people have no where to sit. This ends up with us guests having to clean a table ourselves. The place is OK. But better pubs around the area.

This is a great Wetherspoons pub. Friendly staff, superb and speedy service alongside delicious value for money food make this one of the stand out Wetherspoon pubs in the country. Throw in the fact it was an old police station and the district magistrates court (until as recently as 2000 when the building was listed) and you have a charming public house that has kept many of the features from its former life including the bench, the dock, the witness box, magistrates ready room and a number of the old police cells compete with their iron doors. If you find yourself in the area then I’d strongly suggest you pay a visit here.
