The Harbourside Cafe in Allerdale

Lovely food, great service and friendly staff. We had sandwiches when visiting and all the ingredients were fresh and the sandwiches tasted delicious. We would recommend to those visiting the area.

Nice setting on the harbour, with outdoor tables, but food was just OK, pretty basic and not very good quality ingredients used. During our visit they had problems with their order system so we waited about an hour for food. Staff were apologetic and clearly doing their best, but didn't inform us of problems before we asked what was happening. When our order eventually came one item was wrong and it wasn't worth the wait. Not a bad option if you just want ice cream and tea, coffee etc while sitting out.Edited to add - we weren't offered a refund as owner suggests.

The location might be a bit low key but the bacon butty was ever so good; in fact, I would go so far as to say that whilst not the best, it was not far short and the hard working staff were most pleasant.

I've been here several times and enjoyed their breakfast, cooked lunches and cakes. They have a wide range of flavored teas as well as coffee and got chocolate. All these are quickly served. Their veggie paella was very tasty. Sandwiches and baked potatoes with a variety of filings are also available. There are good arrangements for social distancing in place and the crazy golf, electric boats for kids and the aquarium are all now open. Well worth the visits I have made there

Good selection offered even on the current limited menu, Including a range of vegetarian and gluten free options. Polite service. Very pleased to see good hygiene in place, with tables and chairs wiped down thoroughly between customers, and Tables well spaced.

This is a nice cafe inside the aquarium but you don’t have to pay to go in. There is a very good assortment of meals, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free plus extra large portions of cake on offer. Park behind for free or in front at a small cost as it’s pay and display. The menu for the rolls with combos is a little confusing as you can combine bacon and egg but don’t then get two eggs but apart from that, the food was good and the bacon portions, like the cake, were very generous.
