The Lakes Fish and Chips in Allerdale

Probably the rudest staff I've ever encountered ever! Anything you want they don't do. Also they wouldn't stop staring at me. Only reason I know this as inwas looking out the window and both female members of staff wouldnt stop staring . felt very uncomfortable in there. Asked for a few items they didn't do it they also put the wrong sauce on wrong salad over charged me. Deffinelty won't be going back if I could write worse things believe me I would. Go to the weatherspoons across the road.

Actually couldn't fault it. Complete result. Hoards up the road queing. The lakes was empty good portions nice batter and curry sauce was spot on!!!

Waited ages for fresh chips but they were lovely. Good amount of chips and they were very fresh. I really enjoyed the sausage and it had tons of flavour and was of high quality, especially for £4 as for chips + Sausage. Only complaint is that staff seemed like they didn't want to be there.

Went there on the 25th of September, no que and prices were good. The person serving behind the counter was a bit miserable but not too bad, sadly you cant eat in but I guess thats due to covid. All together its a decent chippy and I would go there again.

Was along wait to get food due to very big queue. But the whole of Keswick was the same queue for all the food shops an pubs. Got fish chips & peas was lovely. The quality of the food was top notch for being very busy.

The sausage and chips were OK. They give decent sized portions. They charge for paper carry bags, if you have a distance to travel this will not be sufficient as the bag falls apart very easily

We called in recently for a takeaway meal. We wanted 2 regular and 2 mini fish & chips. However there was only one size available with fish at £5.00 and chips at £2.50; the portions being somewhere between the two normal sizes so we thought it was a little expensive but the food quality was very good. Proper Covid restrictions were in place. However, the big problem was a very poor customer service attitude from the woman that served us, not polite in the least, borderline offensive and I really don't think I had done anything to upset her. Anyway, that is my personal opinion.

The worst customer service in the UK. What happened to think people can be sooo rude and obnixious?. Short heavy woman when asked if she would put fish separate to chips, proceeded to tell me I need to pay for her extra time for her packing. When challenged she became more rude, I would have walked out had I not put the chef to the trouble of cooking the fish.Never in my entire life have I been met with such poor service and bad manners.I am sure my criticism will be challenged as the assistant is happy for an argument and will totally deny or refute my claims. Please study previous unhappy reviews about this business, there seems to be a pattern maybe when this older assistant is on duty......

We loved how fresh the chips were here! Very, very tasty!There is a really good menu of tasty food to choose from and we were really happy to see that there are some choices for vegetarians and vegans too!The other thing we REALLY lived is that all the forks, trays and bags are biodegradable! AMAZING!!!! This fish and chip shop deserves to be supported because of this. So much wasted plastic usually comes with a portion of chips. These guys are trying to help, so go support them. They are having to pay more for these biodegradable items, so they should be acknowledged for being kind to the planet despite it impacting their profits. We were seriously impressed!Oh and incase you need any other reasons to go... They sell ice cream too!!!

Enjoyed some nice fish and chips from The Lakes chippie, we took them on a short drive to Castlerigg stone circle... The cheese and onion pie was good too. However, at 6.30 pm they had run out of all the pies except one cheese and onion left.
