The Promenade Cafe in Allerdale

The staff can only be described as "excellent". No request was too much trouble. Quick and efficient service. We had an issue with the heating not working in our room and our room was changed within minutes. The hotel restaurant was a cut above the rest, again with attentive service and quality food.If I could give 10 stars I would. 🌟

The food was outstanding, my steak was cooked to perfection. The staff were excellent, extremely efficient and friendly. Will definitely visit again when we are in that part of country.

Very friendly welcome, well equipped and spotlessly clean room. Good central location for exploring the lakes. Breakfast was amazing and even catered for vegans! Would definitely stay here again.

Great room, lovely breakfast, fantastic staff at every stage from breakfast, reception right through - All very helpful situated in a very picturesque area, would definitely visit again and recommend.

A delightful place for a good meal, or just a coffee and patisserie. Centrally situated in the most interesting corner of beautiful Cockermouth. Walk the banks of Englandvs best salmon river, back to the Allerdale for lunch; rough ramble the river Cocker, but don't remove the freshwater pearls! Save some energy for the Allerdale evening meal. A perfect day!

Lovely hotel - can't believe it is just 3 star. The restaurant is excellent. I was worried it would be too red meat based but there were plenty of other options. Service was perfect. Friendly and helpful.

Staff so friendly & welcoming. Hotel in great location. Our room was spacious, clean & ideal for me, my friend & 2 dogs. Breakfast was excellent & tasty 10 out 10. Well done 😁👍

Nice two nights at the Allendale, the room and toilet/shower area were clean and tidy. The bed was a double and we found it small but comfortable.The breakfast was lovely, cooked fresh to order, served at your table by the extremely nice staff members. Overall a great stay but if there is a next time a bigger bed 🤭 Thanks to all the staff, you were great.

Another fabulous stay with Allerdale Court. Lovely old budding done up with beautiful clean decor. The breakfast is probably the best part. As well as the bar. Really good stay and will come back here whenever we come to the Lakes.

I took my mum for a night away last Wednesday in Cockermouth for a treat. As, mum missed out on our holiday to Suffolk.My husband drove us to Cockermouth, and we had a look round The Lakes Home Garden Centre and we had cuppa and scone. My husband went home.I rang the hotel before booking to see if they had any ground floor accessible rooms as my mum has mobility issues.Mum and I, checked into our room at Allerdale Court Hotel which was very clean, and the staff were really friendly and efficient. My mum managed the couple of steps okay without any issues. The only thing we could of done with an grab rail in the shower cubicle. But, it did really matter as we were only staying 1 night. We had a small walk into Cockermouth, then a lovely meal in our hotel restaurant called Blocks. We both had an steak and it was delicious. We both had a good sleep. Our breakfast was amazing with a good choice all freshly cooked to order and because we couldn't help ourselves to cereals due to covid restrictions, they offered us a complimentary breakfast box with 2 waffles, 2 apples, 2 baby bel cheese and 2 actimal bottles to take with us for later.The hotel abided by all the different covid restrictions but made us feel welcome and special.Karen Hodgson
