The Royal Yew in Allerdale

Lovely well priced food and a very nice atmosphere .Highly recommend visiting.

First visit to The Royal Yew. The staff were efficient and friendly. I had the Roast Turkey and my husband had the Beef Lasagne, both meals were absolutely gorgeous, the best pub chips we've had for a long time.. Best advice is to book, a definite to visit.

Friendly, quick service, great local beers and fantastic food at a reasonable price in a beautiful location. We stayed in Ullock so was about a mile walk along a quiet road or the footpath. I had the wild boar burger and would highly recommend. Also THE BEST onion rings I've ever had!!

I have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants, but The Royal Yew exceeded all these. The landlord welcomed us on arrival. Nothing was to much trouble.The portion sizes were fanominal yet they did not compromise on the quality.We were that impressed we went back the following night only to be impressed that much further.If I could give 10 stars I would. Excellent service & value for money.

Lovely welcome...can get busy so we booked in advance. Nice setting and freindly service. Portions were very generous food excellent quality.

Fantastic food served by friendly staff. The black pudding stack starter was out of this world. Would highly recommend eating here.

The meal was ok but neither special nor poor. I had a beetroot and butternut squash wellington. It was small and rather tastless in an unusually firm pastry, along with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables. My partner had a similarly neutral meal. Each dish was around £14. There are other places I prefer to eat.

The welcome & service, the Loweswater real ale and the food were all excellent. I also liked that local lads use the pub on their way home from work. There was indeed a welcome for all.

Have been here twice now. The food is excellent. Starters are huge and well priced, in fact the starters are a meal on their own. Great selection of main courses and specials, again very reasonably priced.Portions are so large that guests are regularly seen leaving with doggy bags.Staff are friendly and attentive.Recommended for a good hearty meal but you might not want to eat at all on the day prior to going along to give you a chance of fitting all the food in!
