Treeby & Bolton Cafe in Allerdale

Some really lovely interior pieces. Enquired into purchasing two pieces of furniture and one member of staff didn’t know how to handle the enquire and was quite negative and the manager (the owner?) almost seemedOffended that I wanted to buy things from them! Mentioned something about problems with stock (which I get, it’s a global issue) but genuinely looked perplexed and mentioned that she couldn’t possibly sell me display items (I hadn’t asked) as they belonged to the shop. The manager was very much head of the salesPrevention department which is a such a shame as the stock is beautiful and I would have bought the display items and arranged a courier but the whole experience made me feel like I was stupid for wanting to buy things. Might I suggest removing the prices from items you don’t wish to to or can’t sell to avoid receiving these kind of enquiries.

Gallery is excellent, but why oh why have they changed the menu in the cafe. We have been eating there for years and I was a particular fan of the soup and sandwich combo. No longer is there a meat option in the sandwiches and the poached salmon has been replaced by smoked salmon sandwich. No omelettes are offered anymore. The waiter blamed staff shortages (surely this does not impact on ham sandwiches?)Sorry, but I don't know who you are catering for? If something isn't broken, don't fix it.

Nice place. Staff very pleasant and a lovely cup of coffee.

The café is lovely and the staff are friendly without being overbearing. Good cakes. The gallery has a very peculiar selection of pieces given the location. Giclée reproductions of awkward sixth-form collages at £600 a pop is a brave choice for a town otherwise famous for scandi furniture and waterproof clothing.

Very nice items available to buy ranging from pictures to glassware and many other items. Plenty of room to look around in todays world. When you have spent a few pounds go down stairs for a drink and cake.

Unfortunately a lack of staff meant very little choice of food. Not serving lunch, no scones left just a few pieces of cake. Staff trying hard under difficult circumstances

Love the omelettes here. Great hot food drinks and cakes. Light filled cafe on a traffic free back street in Keswick. Attentive service. Outdoor and indoor seating. Pleasant music played on speakers. Clean toilet facilities. I'm going back.

Good food and lovely atmosphere. Being honest, I only stop in for the loo, but stayed and checked out the gallery, then grabbed some grub. The prawn sandwich was tasty and filling. The Pavlova wasn't too my liking, but it was my first time trying Pavlova. Overall, great food!
