Old Smithy in Barrow-in-Furness

Ordered fish and chios with deluvery. Money taken by card, still waiting on delivery and now Old Smithy is closed. Wouldn't recommend here, others i know have had same problem. I had to give 1 star as would not let me post. If anything i'd give them -5 stars

Chips and cheese with Cajun sauce, proper hangover cure and delicious.

Been going to the smithy since moving to Walney and not had a bad meal yet. Fish and chips are always fresh and everything you want from a traditional fish and chip shop. Staff are always happy, cheerful and cater to anyones dietary needs.

I’ve been recommended by work to come here. Was very disappointed! The chips were hard and the fish wasn’t great! The staff were lovely but I wouldn’t suggest anyone to come here

Large potion of good qaulity of fish and chips. Spoilt by not having the oil/fat hot enough when putting the fish I cook. It should be hot enough to seal the batter. It was soaked in fat/oil even after having been stood on the fish frier Drain ed for 5mins. By the time we got home and in packed them they were ruined has the batter stuck to the paper and came off . Cone to Leeds Robin hood fisheries see how its done.

Best in barrow. Food is always good and on time. Cant fault them

Fish was nice, chips slightly under...not the first time. Peas like nothing ive ever seen before pretty tasteless and forgot a drink 👍

Ordered two fish and chips with an extra fish. It took 2 hours to arrive. To make things worse, they forgot the extra fish and still charged us for it. Chips were soggy and didn't get many but the fish was nice but for around £8 each it wasn't value for money.

Great food just a shame some things was missing off the order when we opened to eat .... we ordered over the phone in advance to collect 4 different orders but the ladies did still get a bit mixed up but overall food was good . Salt and pepper chips are tasty 👌
