Great hosts; very welcoming, attentive and friendly. A lovely Inn to use as a home base whilst exploring the Lake District, and you get to come back to some nice evenings while sharing a couple of drinks with the locals. Highly recommended!

What an excellent place to visit. We received a warm welcome by the landlady and the staff were friendly too. Great beer garden too. Looking forward to going back again soon

Stayed here a few times on business trips and it’s a pleasure to be there. Rooms are cosy, clean and comfortable. Food is great and a fine selection of beverages to choose from, all at a nice price. The people who run this establishment are brilliant hosts. Would recommend.

Sunday lunch.I'm finding some of these positive reviews very hard to believe.Sunday lunch for three people was a disaster.The portions are not big as people seem to claim.The quality is very low.The roast potatoes were the frozen type.The cabbage was still crunchy.Beef was lukewarm.The pork was nice, but one slice after ordering a large roast?Peas tasted like tinned.The three of us left about half of the meal and went and had something nice elsewhere.
