Lovely clean establishment with very helpful staff. Fabulous food. Just tea cake and coffee today tho'. My favourite.

Came in this afternoon ( Saturday) and had a lovely experience, really friendly staff, delicious food, served really quickly, been many times before, favourite place to eat in town. Wholesome, delicious and nourishing food. Thanks ladies! X

The positives - the establishment is close to the town centre and the food is decent. Everything else - my fella found an auburn hair on his plate. He also faced a very unprofessional and unpleasant treatment from the staff when he asked for Assam tea, there was smirking, tuting and a particularly ironic I'll quote: 'We're not a specialist tea place' - could have fooled me, with a name like 'tea rooms'. When I addressed the hair, the staff bristled up and the cook tried to confront me and kept saying 'Should have said, should have said', instead of a genuine apology. The whole place reeks of cooking oil and as soon as you leave, you will too. There are better and friendlier places in Blackburn. Won't be returning.

We held a 70th birthday celebration at Mad Hatters on Saturday.Lovely table setting and welcoming staff.Individual units of soup.sandwiches,savouries,and cakes which were all delicious also assorted drinks.Even doggy boxes provided! I highly recommend this lovely little tea shop.Clean surroundings,lovely staff and delicious food.

I was looking for somewhere to take my mum for an afternoon tea on Saturday. It was very last minute and I didn't think that I would be able to get in anywhere, but I rang and they kindly let us book for that afternoon. Both myself and my mum are quite fussy eaters, and when we arrived I had a quick chat with the girl serving and she went out of her way to make sure that we did not get any sandwiches that we didn't like. When it came, there was a lovely arrangement of little bits to eat, little tea cup of lentil soup, little macaroon, quiche, little pizza, and much more! The sandwiches were very fresh and really tasty. It was one of the nicest afternoon teas we have ever had, and the price was very reasonable, the girl serving was lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, would highly recommend!

During lockdown Mad Hatters have been delivering the most wonderful afternoon teas. We have ordered a few of the special occasion ones now, and have never been disappointed! The presentation is lovely, the food is divine and all delivered straight to the door for a very reasonable price. We will most definitely be visiting the cafe venue when lockdown ends and they re open.

Had afternoon tea here for my birthday with my children. The food was amazing especially the variety of cakes. The staff made us feel very welcomed and couldn’t do enough for us. Beautiful place,food and staff. Highly recommend to anyone.

Ordered two mothers day afternoon teas. Absolutely beautifully presented. There was more food than anticipated and was delicious. Well worth the money and delivered as well. Thank you

This is a great little place in Blackburn. Fantastic food and terrific staff. There is a basement with extra room. A great variety of cupcakes and you can take them away. They do everything from breakfast items. Hot food from hunters chicken on a ciabatta to eggs Benedict. Lots of choice on salads. Great choice on hot and cold drinks. They also stock fentimans brand of drinks. You have to try them. They also have a children's menu and high chairs are available. Great location being so close to town. They were busy but attentive to all the customers
