Old Mother Redcap in Blackburn with Darwen

Had breakfast here today, its an all you can eat style. On ordering I was asked if I had any allergies, paying is one I said (my funny for the day). I like a breakfast where I pick my own from the counter in the quantity I want with endless tea or coffee, so if you like the same, call in.

Just had a carvery with a friend. My turkey and gammon was cooked just as I like it. Great selection of veg, had mashed swede which many don't. Great gravy as well. Very filling.

Called in for breakfast this morning. The restaurant was clean and tidy . The chap who took our order was extremely polite and well mannered. After choosing our table and placing our drinks down it was time to head over to the carvery ,where we were greatted with an abundance of hot fresh breakfast items, and one of the strangest things I have ever seen .A BREAKFAST PIZZA . The pizza was delicious top marks for the chef who made it . The waitress who's area we were sat it (Alyssa) was more than helpfully with her check backs making sure everything was up to standard

Lauren was super helpful, couldn't ask for more. She went out of her way to make our meal out pleasurable. She heard me and my friend talk about what veg there might be, instead of walking by she said she would look and came back and confirmed. She told us how the offers worked and also the choice of the specials sponges available.

Decent carvery food when I’ve been recently. I’ve been 4 times over the last couple of months and it’s better than what it used to be anyway so keep it up and I’ll keep coming back. The beef was fantastic and the veg was alright but I can’t complain for the price.

Had to wait ages for them to restock the food and even then it wasn't hot. The chefs/ cooks who serve the food looked like the unhappiest and grumpiest people i have ever seen. However, the food tasted quite nice when we eventually got it

Had a lovely lunch with my parents this afternoon. Staff were very welcoming especially Lauren and Pam who were very attentive and friendly making sure we had everything we needed. Food was excellent will definitely be visiting again.

Visited on Feb 14th for Breakfast. staff lovely and food delicious. great choice of breakfast items all fresh and hot. members of staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything.Called on the 20th at 3.30 to see if we could book a table for 6 people at 5pm. They happily fit us in and when arrived. as we had a noisy toddler we asked if we could order from the table instead of having to get up numerous times to go to the bar. They were more than happy to help. Alyssa was really helpful. The food again was spot on. They had run out of several dessert options but it was very, very busy and what we were able to order was delicious. Will definitely recommend and re-visit

Called at 4.30 pm trying to book a table for 5.00. no luck so from a6.00pm booking.Seated as soon as we arrived.Ordered 3 standard carveries.I had beef and pork as my meats, and both were tasty and tender.All our plates were cleared and all gravy mopped up with the Yorkies.I thought the Old Mother Redcap was pleasant, tasty and good value for money.My only complaint, 1 Yorkshire pudding is never enough so next time I'll order the version that gives me more than 1.

We went to the Old Mother Redcap tonight, and the meal was great! A longer-haired staff member whos name I've forgotton took our orders and was a pleasure to deal with. When we arrived the carvery deck was slightly bare, but fresh food was brought out as soon as possible.While we were there, a group of older women were giving the staff a hard time about the food and being quite rude - we went up just before them, and as we mentioned to the staff, we have no idea what the ladies were on about. The staff did everything they could to rectify the situation. Great staff, great service, good food. We'll be back!
