Oyster & Otter in Blackburn with Darwen

Lovely place. 6 of us had lunch, all different dishes. Everyone enjoyed their meal. No room for desserts as the portions are very generous.

Called in on Tuesday afternoon for a first time. Busy enough for week day. Lovely place with a nice decoration and very welcoming staff. Didn't bother me not to have table service but didn't like the way we had to write down our order, rather order via app its easier. The white wine was a bit warm so sent it back. Enjoyed the food, the fish needed some salt otherwise enjoyed the visit. Reading the reviews I can confirm that its not expensive at all, the prices are OK. May be people didn't realise that everything has gone up.

We had high expectations for The Foundry, but were hugely disappointed!! Food was okay but 1 out of 4 meals arrived after everyone else had finished. Had to order everything at the bar…halfway through eating our meal I had to get up for a drink. Service was non-existent - took ages to get the dirty plates removed from the table. This is the level of Wetherspoons, which is okay if that’s what you want…real let down after The Oyster & Otter. You need to up your game to get repeat business….would be far better just as a bar!

A real shame, awful cheap look to the place, bathroom tiles on the front of bar?! fake carved wooden table tops, layout feels like a motorway/services pub, kids running around and clearly aimed at getting young drinkers in. Not a place to relax, but maybe somewhere to have a "hen do" or "lads night out" in. To sum the place up, its a cheap version of Wetherspoons that is trying to sell food and I'm being kind saying thatEither this place will have gone in 2 years or the prices and standards will have dropped even lower. Whoever invested in this place clearly did no research on Feniscowles and the housing investment being made in the area. So many of us had hoped for a great pub/restaurant and got a fast food sports bar aimed at the wrong demographic.A real shame and a place to avoid unless you're between the ages of 16 and 25, have young children you are happy to have running around and like fast food style pub meals, that you will pay a lot for.Really disappointing.

We had 2 Sunday lunches; the lamb was a bit overcooked but the gammon was delicious. Had 2 beers and 2 ciders, plus a side of garlic bread. Feels quite expensive at £54.All the staff were attentive, helpful and friendly.

We went in the first week of reopening and the place looks superb with areas to eat or just go and have a beer and an area for those who want to watch sports we had a great evening, the food is delicious and the staff were very friendly and encouraged by a manager who is always happy to talk with you and makes you feel welcome.

Had the best roast dinner tonight with a lovely glass of wine. Atmosphere and staff (especially a lovely waitress called Robin) who went above and beyond to help us with an inconsolable baby so we were able to get a few minutes to eat our meal. Thank you so much. It meant a lot. Will definitely visit again soon.

The food was adequately portioned and came out hot. Although I do feel it is overpriced for the service you get. You have to order at the bar, no table service. There is an app for ordering drinks and desserts but this didn't work. Also had to prompt the staff to clear the tables of empty glasses so we had room to eat. Overall a decent experience but downgraded the review to a 3 star due to having to get up to the bar.

Fantastic food and superb service. Will be back again soon. Would definitely recommend.
