The Crown and Thistle in Blackburn with Darwen

I have ordered several takeaways from the Crown and Thistle.The food is delicious.We had Sunday roast yesterday it was superb really tasty,and also the homemade Lasagne is really good.You must give it a tryit is really high quality food always piping hot. Well done keep up the good work.

Booked a meal for my husbands birthday and sadly left really upset/disappointed. Had previously dined here with family and the food was superb. We visited as a family member is gluten intolerant therefore opts for the gluten free options on offer sadly that night they were unable to provide this option, nevertheless we ordered a different meal for them. Myself and husband both opted for the fillet steak meals. When they arrived the meat was really poor quality and the steaks were laced in fat which made it inedible resulting in both meals being sent back and us then leaving to get tea elsewhere. When we alerted the waitress she was incredibly helpful and showed the chefs the steaks who were in agreement with our comments. It was such a shame as it was clear the chefs are very talented and the issue lied with the supplier and not the kitchen, it was just really disappointing as the meal was to celebrate a 40th birthday.

There were 6 of us dining and you would expect that one meal would not be perfect.Not the case here. Everything was excellent.Freshly prepared and very good quality.Good service and reasonable prices.This is one place that I will make a point of returning.

took my parents for lunch dad had a curry and came with naan mini popudoms mum had roast beef with a very tasty yorkshire pudding mash roast potatoes and plenty of veg and i had a fish and chips which was very big. all really tasty and more than enough definitly large portions well worth every penny

Always a pleasure to eat at the Crown & Thistle. Just been for lunch with my son and enjoyed the soup and a very nice burger with bacon and Lancashire cheese (nice touch with the Lancashire cheese may i say). Lovely log burner to keep the pub warm and perfect service by Ben and his team. Five stars

We walked in with 9 of us and they fit us in. The food was fantastic and the staff were great. My beef and ale pie was so tasty and the ice cream sundae was Delicious. Highly recommended

This has to be one of the best pubs i have visited - ever!Welcoming, great food, kind and friendly staff.They allow dogs in and even the customers make you feel welcome. It really does feel homely!

Beautiful food, warm welcoming atmosphere. The lamb shanks and been bourguignon were outstanding. Even though I'm giving a 5 star review I would however would like to be asked as to what lager I would prefer when ordering my drink. I cannot stress the level of quality that the food is in this establishment . Will 100% return

Never had a bad experience until today. I took my family waited a long time between our starts and mains, roast potatoes were hard, the mash was like it was warmed up. We had desserts which we took home, but had to get the manager as the girl who was serving us picked both desserts with her hands no gloves or washing of hands between each one. One person doing the drinks and serving them as well as taking payment off people. Need more staff when busy.

Really nice cosy pub set out the way in the countryside. Had a really nice lunch the menu was great. Will definitely visit again the starter tapas selection was really good struggled what to pick as it all sounded so nice. Thank you
