The Strawbury Duck in Blackburn with Darwen

We stayed for two nights at the Strawbury Duck Inn and we had a wonderful experience. Jason was an excellent host and provided everything we asked for.The pub setting is beautiful and the food was catered to our dietary requirement, however, I would suggest you notify the workers of any dietary requirement before hand, just in case!We had a walk to the viaduct and reservoir which was nice (wear comfy shoes) and the following day we attended a wedding at the Wellbeing Farm and our hosts kindly arranged transportation there!5/5 stars from us!

Wow, I have been here a few times! However today’s visit was just incredible from beginning to end. We sat at the table near the typewriter, which as a poet I really appreciated and found significant. I ordered the braised lamb and it was cooked delicate and to perfection, I can’t even describe how amazing and filling it actually was. My family was seated on another table close by, I also tried their food which was amazing too (as always), honestly, the chefs are clearly extremely experienced and always cook the best home-made meals. As for the staff, they really do go to the ends of the earth for you! They are brilliant and always put a smile on our faces, such lovely people. I’d like to shout out Fiona B the waitress, such a lovely human who kept me smiling and made sure we both had a lovely time, Fiona is a credit to the strawberry duck team, thank you to her for putting a smile on my face! Honestly, if I could give 100 stars to the strawberry duck, I would in a heart-beat. It’s classy with scenic views and the best food and service. My favourite place by far! My advice to you everyone would be, ‘if you haven’t visited yet, go!!!!!’

We have visit with friends during our walk at the reservoir.What a great place I have to say , from start to finish it was all relaxing and well chilled vibe. Very friendly staff.Food was great, service was good too.Next time we will book a table as it can get busy during lunch time , especially when there are 7 of you 😀Great job keep it up.

Was really looking forward to having lunch here, I have been told the food was nice. I ordered fish pie which looked nice when it can. Fish pie in bucket as was the peas. I turned it out on the plate the sauce was very watery as were the potatoes . I was going to put the peas on the plate but they had water in the bottom of the bucket. I told the waitress that I did not enjoy it and the plate had water on the top of the sauce. She smiled and say ohh! That was it. I paid but would never go again and have told family and friends not to bother. One foot note we booked table for 12 noon and believe me they would not let us in until 12. Two men went in at 11.50 and had to come out in the pouring rain as the would not let them stay. If I own that pub I would have said we are not open yet but you are welcome to sit and wait. All in all a waste of money

We had a lovely lunch here as usual.The service is always very good and we have always been pleased with the food we have had.This is a great destination if you want to have a walk followed by a drink and something to eat.

I loved this place. Like a real old-fashioned pub but with excellent decor and friendly atmosphere. It was lovely to sit next to one of the two log fires we saw. Food was delicious and arrived quickly but freshly cooked. I will be visiting again as ideal after a walk around Entwistle Reservoir. I would highly recommend

Excellent country pub with real hand pump beer plus the usual fuzzy keg stuff. Excellent food and quick service even though the pub was full at lunch time. Warm welcome and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Excellent food and drink. Great choice on the menuA bit tricky to get to by car, however it is next to Entwistle rail station so that is the best way to get there.The staff were very nice and attentive tooWe will return and it is thoroughly recommended

Caleb on a windy Tuesday lunch time with my son.The positive: staff polite, good decor, clean warm toilet, good selection on menu. Good when arrived looked nice.Negative: car park full so difficult to park near by, food not great fish pie sauce had split and tasted sour sins burger was raw ( not even rare ) and bun burnt underneath.But ( my fault) we did not complain as we felt embarrassed so paid and left.Sadly we will not return.

Had my Christmas dinner today (Xmas 2021) staff where absolutely outstanding in very busy circumstances and food was brilliant. Highly recommend. Family really enjoyed the atmosphere and we will most definitely be returning. Every credit to the staff working on Christmas Day!
