Harry Ramsden's in Blackpool

Came in early this afternoon 9/3/2022 to get out of the weather and grab a bite to eat and get warm. Decided to visit as I haven’t been in quite a while and many places on the promenade are still closed due to the season.Ordered the regular cod and chips, curry and a soft drink.It was absolutely wonderful. Cooked to perfection! Lovely crisp batter and the fish was nice and flaky inside and what a big piece of fish it was! Peas were just right. Not a grainy texture like you get sometimes. It was so nice to see all the staff smiling! The girls that were seating everyone down were so bubbly and the two lady chefs in the kitchen were busy doing their work with big smiles on their faces. It’s so rare to see people enjoying their jobs these days so it was really refreshing. They are a credit to you as a company. Will be coming again very very soon.

Good quality fish 🐟 and well prepared. Comfortable seating areas and open longer than other similar restaurants. Quite expensive comparatively.

Brilliant and friendly staff from the manager to the servers. Fish, chips and mushey peas all served freshly cooked and steaming hot. I will definitely be going there again, but in season, bit too cold for my liking in February.

Food was pretty good! Fish was ace. Took 1.5hrs to arrive though, kitchen looked like it wasn't in control at all. Queues were forming to get food updates. If you want a quick sit down F&C, maybe consider somewhere else.

We waited quite a long time to be seated, then the table we were taken to was dirty. We ordered our food and drinks and had a fairly long wait for them, I don’t mind this if food is worth waiting for, but sadly it wasn’t, we had ordered two large fish and chips and one small fish and chips yet when they arrived the portions were all the same size, so paying £5 extra for each large portion of food was just a scam. There were a lot of dirty tables which needed clearing and cleaning which also didn’t leave me feeling like the place was under control. Would probably stick to smaller places in the future because this wasn’t worth the money and certainly didn’t live up to its name or our expectations.

Was fairly disappointed with the restaurant meal, seated at table 20 near the doors and constantly tormented by wind everytime doors opened, water boiler was broken so unable to have a cuppa Yorkshire tea with the meal. Opted for sprite which was flat and had a hint of chlorine taste to it so exchanged for a Fanta, bar staff were great and said they'd had several complaints. Meal took almost 40minutes to arrive and tbh I ordered a Medium cod which was about the size of my phone almost, (phone slightly bigger)chips were warm and the mushy pea's seemed to be a token gesture. Total cost for two meals and two drinks £34. Oh Four pieces of bread and butter came on a saucer with four portions of butter. 30yrs exactly was the last time I visited that Harry Ramsdens and that day I had my meal as a take out it was that good I went back for seconds.. Today's experience on eating in was totally the opposite. My Opinion get a take out.. Sorry honest fair opinion wasn't worth £34. My friend had the small Haddock meal and said what's all the rave about...Blackpool I was let down guys... 2/10 service great but that's where it ended.

Nice decor and friendly, helpful staff. Portions were small but food was lovely. Kids desserts were great value, tea was served in a huge pot which kept nice and hot. Would visit again.

Picture is the large cod and chips meal. Food was nice and was able to take away if you couldn't finish it all. Pot of tea not good as it didn't seem clean as tea had a film over it. When asked for a glass of water it was warm and when asked to replace we were looked like we asked the biggest thing ever. Staff whether it was late in the evening didn't seem the friendliest. Place was empty. Toilets could be cleaned as there were spiders and webs across the ceiling.

Lovely food, very helpful staff. Felt sorry for the waiter and the manager having to deal with a couple complaining ( trying to get a FREE meal) 🤬 Well done to the manager tho, handled it well. 👍

Great place! Staff are always friendly. The food is the best around. Perfect chips and the fish just melts in your mouth. The same everytime.
