Lovely staff didn't wait long at all good food

My hubby was finishing work at 8pm and I ordered from this chippy for delivery so it wouldn't need to keep warm for long before hubby would get to it. I was called and asked if I wanted it sooner as they were closing at 8pm and I agreed I'd be happy for 10 mins or so earlier to allow them to clean up etc. Expecting to need to keep on warm in the oven. It arrived at 08.03pm with service with a smile and I am extremely grateful for the staff staying behind to get this to us at our preferred time. Was gorgeous as always and service excellent. Thank you for going the extra mile.

Not a great experience. The fish was extremely greasy and the chips were not fresh. They were also mainly thin chips with almost none having any filling, let alone 'fluffy'. Disappointed.

Not very impressed, the Cottage used to be the best but unfortunately not anymore, the batter was soggy inside and the chips were awful, sorry for the bad review but if you don’t know then you can’t put it right ☹️

Had been looking forward to trying here as the original chippy has such a great reputation but i was actually really disappointed. It took ages for the food to be cooked (apparently there was an issue with the temperature of the oil which kept dropping) and there was a terrible atmosphere within the staff. Totally unprofessional behaviour from a couple of members of staff in front of customers. Having said that the sausages were nice , as was the gravy. But it's certainly not enough to go back again.

Lovely fresh fish cooked to perfection. Very big portions. Lovely staff very attentive. Had the special and it was worth every penny.

I hate leaving awful reviews but my experience today was so bad that i absolutely have to i bought a large portion of chips and it was a big portion which in normal circumstances would have been great but my goodness me these were the most vile chips ever truly they were like rock you could not chew them they were so hard all of them went straight in the bin i honestly have no idea what they did to them for them to be so hard maybe reheated a few times?? cooking chips is not rocket science it's really pretty easy so how they made them this disgusting is beyond me it really is, i take absolutely no pleasure from leaving this review but if any of the owners read this please seriously rethink your cooking techniques or retrain your staff as my hard earned money was completely wasted today.

Went in on a friday night and me and the Mrs ordered a small fish and chips each. The staff were friendly and chatty, the placed looked clean and they have a varied menu.We got home and devoured our meals. The fish had just the right amount of batter and the chips were nice and crispy, not your normal soggy chip. At £3.75 its just the right amount of food and certainly filled a hole. Will be returning there again at some point.
