No beer, no pool table and IVY in the toilet!First Night in, I was told that the meal includes a pint of Ale! Great! But there wasn't any ale on.... so why advertise it? So disappointed I had to get a larger....this then ran out on the second night! I was then offered Coors or Carling. I then drank the Bru Dog....all 4 cans of it! Terrible supply of beers for a PUB! 3rd night still no beer, so I drink red wine (needs must) went up to play pool, Out of order, ok....things break, fair enough, so I went to the toilet and it was Freezing! Window open damp all over the ceiling and I couldn't believe it, IVY climbing its way across the room. I've spent nights on Dartmoor in a Bivy while it was snowing that were more enjoyable than this pub! Avoid!

I went here about five years ago and was disappointed with the wafer thin gammon and the frozen chips at restaurant prices. Today after not being back for this long I was hoping things would of changed and they may have employed a chef but unfortunatly nothing had changed apart from maybe the prices have gone up. The only reason they get 2 start is for the front of house staff who were great.

Stayed at the Premier Inn next door so dead handy to come here for an evening meal or just a drink. We had drinks Friday afternoon and ate in the restaurant on Saturday night. The food was excellent and it was served by very friendly staff.

Nice breakfast, was cooked to order though rather than Buffett. Nice selection of cereals, pain au chocolats, yoghurts and fruit etc which were Buffett style

Fantastic service, both for evening meal and breakfast. We had an issue with the desserts that was sorted by way of a refund! Can not fault the service and the way that was handled all the other meals ordered we're great. Breakfast was good, prompt and friendly service. We stayed in the premier Inn and the staff behind reception we're cheery, and extremely helpful with everything we asked of them!

Staying at the nearby hotel, this seemed the obvious place for eating and I've had some quite good meals there in the past - but felt this experience fell short of what I'd had before. It certainly seemed to take some time before the meals came - a good 30+ minutes - and the meal didn't feel too hot, as though they'd all been prepared some time earlier but had been sitting waiting. I didn't seem to have a great deal of chips with the steak - I seemed to recall Beefeater's came with "bottomless chips" but he waiting staff never seem to offer any.It was find for a quick bite, but not as great as I recall. The Sunday night was worse... I'd ordered lamb with potatoes and peas, but although the lamb was good the potatoes were quite dry and the peas hard, like they'd been reused from lunchtime. Again, the meal wasn't too warm, feeling as though it had been sitting around for a bit.I've stayed there for a few weekends now and I've a feeling I'm going to eat out somewhere else Sunday night.

Staff were very welcoming and orders were taken without delay. It did take a while for our meal to arrive, the roast beef dinner, the beef was amazing so tender and flavourful, as was the roast potatoes. However the carrots and cauliflower cheese was cold. Overall the meal was enjoyable but I don't think I will visit again.

We booked here on route after a fun day in Blackpool , it was after 8pm so was a little hard to find anywhere initially. Having looked for a while we found this place. On arrival ( 4 adults, 2 Children) we were seated straight away and left with menus, 10 minutes later our drinks order was taken and shortly after so was our food order. We all ordered different meals so it was great to see a good variety of meals on the table. Initially everything seemed good. The lamb chops were juicy and cooked to perfection , the cheeseburgers were soon eaten by the kids , 1 adult had a rump steak cooked to perfection and another had a chicken dish which was eaten with gusto. However one of the dishes ordered was the more expensive steak variety and was ordered medium rare. On arrival all seemed to be well, the sides and sauces were nicely cooked and very tasty. Sadly when the steak was cut it was rather thin and very overcooked. The waiting staff was informed and without any questions the offending steak was whisked away and a completely fresh cooked meal with a now perfectly cooked steak was presented. Obviously by this time everyone else in the party had finished eating which left this individual feeling a little awkward so they shared out the extra food ( chip etc). The staff here were lovely and a good time was had by all.I do however feel that the food was somewhat expensive in comparison to other chain brand establishments.!Upon paying the bill by card I was informed it had failed knowing it shouldn't have I presented my card for another attempt which was successful. However the next day as I was checking my bank I noticed two payments had been taken by the pub. When I contacted them they were very apologetic and informed me that hopefully it should bounce back into my account, if not I had to call again in a couple of days. The money was returned and all was well just a few days later.I was informed that this had happened before so I would advise you check your account after a visit here just to be on the safe side.Ok would I recommend this place?? Honestly no probably not, the main reason being I know you can get food as good and better for much cheaper, and though the food was nice on all counts for the amount paid It wasn't a wow or all that memorable.Proven I guess by finding my hand written review in my food journal and only now 2 months later adding it here. I just wasn't overly blown away. Nor would I feel the need to visit again .
