Beautiful restaurant..oldy worldy, made so welcome by lovely staff , accommodated wheelchair .wow absolutely amazing food , waitress especially lovely despite being ultra busy .. Great value for money for the high standard of food n service...

Visited for lunch was lovely, we did have to ask for a specific lunch menu as the mains were more evening meals,Lovely staff mainly seen a young read headed lad who was extremely polite and welcomingWill be back again soon!

Brilliant experience for me my Uncle Brian for hes 80 birthday After he's cancer treatment. Beautiful Hidden Jem. Will come again. Excellent food and Service. Best in North East.

Fantastic lunch. Popped in on the way to somewhere else. Had a gorgeous meal. Absolutely stuffed. Really good quality food and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Lovely country pub, delicious Sunday lunch. Had it without the meat as I’m vegetarian and was still plenty of food, well cooked veg. Classic sticky toffee pudding and custard for dessert, meant to take a picture but it was too good, polished it off before I remembered.

Went for a Christmas fayre lunch, was met and shown to our table - food and service was beautiful and well presented. The only down side was; we asked for 2 different alcohol free drinks and these where not available. A very enjoyable day well recommended and we'll be back again

I had thai fish cake starter and was excellentBut main course was a disasterOrder beef stroganoff what eventually came was s bowl of stew when i inquired about bed of rice it was might to be seved on he came back from kitchen with rice in a pudding tin when i .complained again when i could eat no more.. the waiter then said he thought it was stew to when he got plate from kitchen .no explanation was given..but still charged full price and no apology either...

The food was excellent, very well presented and good value for money, the only downside was the steak came with choice of sauce ,i asked for beiannaise the waitress hadn't even heard of it (worried), then went to ask chef ,meal was then presented with a peppercorn sauce (strange),would recommend, but slight reservations about choices.

Lovely 2 course meal at the Red Lion. Couldn't fault the food or service. Staff were friendly and polite but not overly insistent. I like the quaint atmosphere.
