Lovely decor and pleasant atmosphere. Had the traditional indulgence afternoon tea, it was superb. Loose tea leaves served in a massive tea pot along with china tea cup, we had a refill too. Good selection of fresh sandwiches, scone and other delights, I opted for the carrot cake from the cake selection and ended up bringing it home as I was too full. Excellent service too. We went here for afternoon tea recently. The place is absolutely gorgeous. From the outside which looks welcoming to the lovely interior. They use proper porcelain, have flowers on tables and even the staff wear vintage style uniforms. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious and fresh. They have an excellent choice of flavoured teas and coffee too. You can take away cake. Plus there are also gifts you can buy including candles and oil burners. It's also in an historical building which was once lived in by a designer of the titanic, well with visiting.

We had a family celebration lunch here. There is an excellent choice of afternoons teas, cakes and many other menu items.We had a lovely time. The food was served promptly, by friendly helpful staff. They were happy to tweak some of the sandwich choices, to cater for people with a plainer palate. Everything was lovely and fresh. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. We were able to sit and natter even after we had cleared our plates. There was no hurry up, to rush us out the door.Poppins was fairly busy, given it was a Thursday. Many other people came and went. So a great atmosphere.Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you!

Really lovely place, wonderful friendly staff.Excellent very large pot of tea for two.The best though was the absolutely amazing Velvet cake & my sumptuous biscoff cake.We really enjoyed the Poppins tea rooms & will return soon to try an Afternoon tea.

Always friendly and welcoming. Service is second to none. If you're looking for an amazing afternoon tea this is the place. The decor is lovely and you can tell that the staff put their heart and soul into the place. Fantastic selection of delicious food and drink. It's an experience, not just a bite to eat. Our visit was a Christmas gift from my children, we booked a Saturday at 12 and the restaurant was warm, welcoming and not over full.Poppins is utterly charming along with the staff. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and lots of it. We requested the chutneys on the side as the three of us had different tastes, they changed the hot drink to cold for one of us, nothing was too much trouble.We enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend.

I suprised my wife with afternoon tea at Poppins tea room on Saturday. I booked in advance to avoid disappointment! Inside and outside the venue was very impressive with Victorian style decor and the Mary Poppins theme throughout. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely! We had a great time and will definitely be returning in the future!

We had a voucher for here, and had to wait nearly two years to use, but they are open now, and the service is excellent, the menu is more than sufficient, the quality of everything is excellent, very satisfying, will definitely go again.

Went and had the indulgent afternoon tea and it was amazing!!! The sandwiches were delicious, I could've eaten a plate full of them! The scones and cakes were fresh and tasty and the tea was piping hot. All for a fair price. The staff were very friendly and service was prompt. All round excellent experience. I will definitely be visiting again!
