Dissappoited again. Given this place a number of tries but each time good has been average.Menu is extensive so can't comment on all but so far been let down my the pizza, fish and chips and pie. As Gordon Ramsey would say, maybe better to reduce to menu and do what you do well rather than do everything so so.Place is nice and staff friendly. Pity about the food. Presentation good but lacks flavour and quality.

Fantastic lunch here today. Had the steak diane with skinny fries. Always enjoy myself here. Staff are lovely and friendly, and prices are good. Hubby had a mixed grill which he enjoyed. Was quite a large meal too.

The most amazing friendly place to eat. The steaks are to die for. I’ve eaten here for years and could never find fault with either the service or the food. Sadly they are leaving but we’ll be happy to follow them x

Rude staff in bar area tonight :( Very unwelcoming and abrupt female member of staff who said she couldn't tell me how long I'd have to wait to get my order in because they were busy, I said it was no worries as we was ordering drinks anyway to which she replied "I'm busy serving customers" and turned my back on me. I also had the most vile monitor, served in a margarita glass and covered in sugar. The atmosphere in the bar was also a bit tacky with the choice of music

So we had the three course menu for £18.99. Had a prawn starter and stake and ale pie for main . Not one piece of chewy meat , nice chunky chips . We couldn't fit pudding in so asked could we take away , not a problem. Lovely staff and very clean .

Service was dreadful long wait between courses it was very busy but someone just to apologise would of been nice . Half hour wait just for a pint of beer which we had to remind them twice. I ordered garlic mushrooms which were dry and had a dreadful taste. Partner ordered black pudding which was OK.i had the beef strognoff which was swimming in oil and served on risotto rice which it meant was just slop .

We went for Christmas Dinner, although it was nice, it wasn't as good as I was expecting. The starter i chose was goats cheese and cranberry parcels- this was nice but more filo pastry than filling, the dinner I chose the turkey meal, great portions but swimming in gravy. Probably would have been better if in a gravy boat. But the pudding was excellent millionaires cheesecake this was delicious. Coffee &Tea wasn't part of the menu. The venue is beautiful, a old traditional pub, friendly welcoming staff, a credit to management.Been here before and the meal was fantastic. Bonus not having to do the washing up!! Thankyou you to the team.

Starters and mains were lovely and staff were friendly. My wife had a mojito which she said was tasteless. The cheesecake was dreadful. It had a "jellied" fruit topping and possibly the worst cheesecake I've ever tasted. Other than that, it is a lovely place and I would give it another try.

We had our daughter’s birthday dinner. There were 11 of us.We ordered drinks at the bar. My husband was happy to see Guinness and order it. He said, “the bar man poured my Guinness too quickly and in one go.”Starters came promptly and there was a bit of long wait for main dishes, but it’s definitely worth waiting for. The portions were really generous. All the dishes we ordered were so tasty. The staff were all nice and helpful. Very happy to go back there again and I highly recommend it.
