I really like the Black Dog, generally good food, had sausage and Mash, the sausage were extremely tasty but the mash was as if it was once frozen which sadly let it down, great atmosphere though !!!!!

Good pub grub, nice surroundings, pleasant staff. Daily specials are good value for money. Stopped off for a meal and a pint after walking the moors. Dogs allowed in certain areas in the pub and there's a beer garden. A popular place for walkers.

Nice place, dogs allowed in bar area which is nice if you're out for a walk. Large car park across the road. Food was reasonably priced and nice but my only criticism is the chips , would have preferred proper chips instead of frozen!

In by 3.45pm and seated immediately. Ordered quick service with drinks and starters. Long wait for mains, Sunday roast, which was all over cooked, roasts yorkshire and chicken also dry. Mixed veg and cauliflower cheese excellent. Long wait for dessert, Vimto Eton mess. Too much pink cream, a few blackcurrants and lots of meringue could hadone with less cream and one spoon of ice cream.

Great food, decent prices. Not all vegetarian options were available and neither was all the advertised ice cream. If you want salt and pepper chips I would advise adding the salt and pepper yourself and getting the plain chips as you get more for one quid less

Great lunch here. 2 meals for £13 were very tasty. Limited choices with this offer however what is available is good. Service friendly and helpful

Lovely food here. Had steak and ale pie 😋 Only 'complaint' was the filling was extremely hot compared to the rest of the food. I can tolerate hot food and drinks but this did burn my mouth a little and yes, we did comment how hot it was to staff 🙂

Lovely interior warm welcoming and friendly staff. But unfortunately at £4:05. For a pint of Joseph Holt diamond I would not be returning. It's unfortunate that some pubs have to have the prices so expensive it's such a shame. Wouldn't mind paying up to £3:80 but at £4:05 that's just too much . Other then the overpriced beer the pub was pleasant and Also has a large carpark .

Really enjoyed their ales, food likewise. If you like hot food, try the firecracker chicken but have a drink to hand, it's extremely tasty and lives up to it's name.Staff were great.
