Tonge Thai in Bolton

I've ordered several times in the past and the food's always been delicious. Sadly, I moved out of the area but got takeaway a month ago and it's still great - the chicken pad siewe is especially good.

Terrible, two items missing, over 1 hour late and seriously salty food. Tried them a few times and in the past was always late, thought I would try one more time but poor again!

This used to be my favourite takeaway & reminded me of when I was in Thailand as the food tasted authentic. Fast forward a few years and it seemed that the opening hours very never accurate; calling during stated opening hours-not open, visiting during stated opening hours-shutters down. This was pre-covid and unfortunately it seems Covid has had a further impact.I was really looking forward to having food from here when I was craving Thai and I'm sad to say it was disappointing. My order did not taste how it should have done, it was extremely salty and I could not eat it. I don't know if it relates to it being cooked by British people, as opposed to previously being cooked by Thai people.The salt & pepper chips from here are delicious though! Absolutely recommend. I would try from here again but I will order Red or green curry next time.Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly. The inside is decorated like a street food truck and a sheet of glass separates the chefs from the customer, so you can watch your meal being prepared. They only accept cash so be prepared when you go.

By far the best Thai take away we have been to and we have tried a lot. 15 minute drive for us to get there but totally worth it. Normal prices too which is good.

Just had a takeaway this evening, really disappointed and not impressed with the food I received. My veg satay starter was just a few veg in a tray ... no peanut sauce, & the veg yellow curry container was half full. Very poor for £12.70 rang up to inform, was offered to return for something else, but to be brutally honest after looking at the diabolical quality I didn’t see the point of doing a 30 minute round trip for a replacement meal. Won’t go again or recommend.

Amazing food!!! I only ordered the thai fried rice (with various meats or veggies) and rice noodles so far but I am so impressed with how delicipus the food is! The portions are huge, I usually eat 3 times from 1 takeaway so that's a bonus. Totally recommend!

Very disappointing, ordered at 5. 25 pm rang at 6.35. As still not arrived having been told it will be there within the hour, finally arrived at 7.15 pm.Order wrong.Food was tasty but portion sizes not great ie 5 chicken wings, not the meaty bit ! £4.70.Really wanted to enjoy this, sadly we didn't.Won't be ordering again.

Ordered from here tonight as we fancied something different. Straight away on the phone I was advised there was over an hours wait for collection but liked the menu so was willing to wait. So glad we did!Arrived to see my food being cooked fresh from pots of fresh ingredients in the open kitchen. The smells coming at me were amazing.We ordered a Satay and garlic and pepper starter and they were phenomenal. The flavours were dancing around my mouth and from the first bite to the last I was impressed.For my main I got a beef cashew stir fry. The veg was crunchy and fresh, the beef cooked perfectly with no fat and the jasmine rice was light and sticky, just how it should be.The other half had the Pad Tonge Thai special. She says it was the best thai meal she has had.The whole lot cost just under £30 so comparable with other takeaways.If you like Thai/Asian food then I recommend you give his place a try, Order early though, when I arrived at 8ish tonight they had been forced to stop taking orders as they'd not be able to fulfil them in time...I'll be going back.

Getting worse.. This place about a year ago had nothing but Thai people cooking and the food it was amazing.. Now its full of English reading off there recipes. Its lost its authentic touch and the food is nothing compared to how it use to be. Very disappointed with the change.....It has slowly been getting worse from Christmas 2017 the food was amazing before then.And I would never eat from Jamie's Italian for the exact reason, he is not Italian.When I go out for a meal I expect the person who is cooking my food,to be from the same country as the dish I have ordered. I wouldn't order jerk chickin from my local curry house..it isn't authentic..

First time we've been here and the food was amazing! We chose a selection of dishes and they were all fresh, great portion sizes and delicious. Reasonable prices too and good quality ingredients! Our 4 year old son loved his chicken satay from the Little Ones' Menu! Thank you Tongue Thai and we will be back soon! We can highly recommend them!
