Bertram's in Burnley

Along with 30 plus colleagues, I had my retirement meal here last week. The food was excellent, the service brilliant and as an unexpected bonus, they gave the 3 people who were leaving a firework cake and beautifully decorated plate! Well done to all of the staff, you made my evening extra special, thank you.

Booked in for a burger evening. We were so stuffed. Couldn't resist the desert, so we shared it. Fabulous service. Would advise to book a table as quite a popular evening.

It was our first visit to Bertram’s and it’s been recommended by a few friends. It certainly didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it! We both had a slow cooked lamb shank and it was the most tender lamb I’ve ever had. Inside is as nice as the food and the service was very good too

I've had to edit my reciew left last year, from good experiences we used to have to a nightmare evening. Visited on Wednesday night, wasn't even very busy, but the kitchen is a big disappointment. First, we ordered the king scallops and we had a very small one, than when we mentioned to the girl who cleaned the plates she didn't seem to understand what we were talking about, may be she doesn't know the menu but that's fine, then the filet steak was supposed to be medium rare, they sent it rare, so they sent it back and was told they're cooking a new one, my husband had to wait 25 min for a medium rare steak, 25 min!!! Happy we didn't ask for a well done steak. And still had it rare one more time, but he was hungry so had to eat it and by time he had his steak my burger was cold so I've left half of it. The restaurant staff were really nice and helpful shame that the kitchen gives them the stress they have to deal with unhappycustomers. The assistant manager offered a dessert wich was much appreciated but we would rather enjoy our dishes, it was our first night out since we had a baby, just a shame

Thursday supper club special. 2 course and half a bottle of vino £24. Decent!

Well we thought we'd booked in to Wilfred's but when we arrived there they said we'd booked Bertram's. It didn't matter as it's only a couple of minutes walk and actually turned out to be in our favour as I'd expected to pay about £140 in Wilfred's but the Bertram's Thursday 'deal' - which was truly outstanding, halved that.The service was excellent, decent Sauvignon Blanc wine upgrade, super starters and marvellous mains (receipt added to this review). Very happy and currently planning a midweek trip to the hotel spa :-)

Perfect for a special occasion. There is lots of food choice and all of us enjoyed every bite. I recommend the duck! I’d say the only down side is the staff, they’re lovely but quite young and don’t always know the right thing to do things efficiently

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary, a wonderful dinner night. We got a window seat on prior request, it was beautiful to look out to sunset. Food was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed from starters to mains to dessert! Service was 5*. Definitely recommend and we ll be back soon!
