Cafe Kingfisher in Burnley

Having booked a table earlier in the week on arrival we were taken to a table outside. I politely declined and said we had asked for inside and was told we may have to wait even though it was fairly empty because the tables were booked ! Eventually told to sit anywhere? and sat down. Then waited 20 minutes before being offered a drink and a menu. On receipt of the menu found there to be nothing more than a few sandwiches and bar snacks I asked where the full menu was, to be told abruptly that this IS the menu ! On previous visits I have had no issues and the menu had been varied and the food very good. The last visit only a couple of months back I had a lovely tuna steak on a bed of noodles. From here it got worse, left without any service we had to queue at the bar for a second drink and still no food. Eventually after an hour our food did arrive and was very average and basic for the price. the cutlery was not only wet but dirty and I had to go to the kitchen and ask for clean cutlery. We then had to wait another 5 minutes for clean cutlery without even an apology. Needless to say I would not recommend this establishment nor would I visit again.

Excellent food and view. Well worth a visit. Brilliant staff and all food reasonable priced. Will definitely be going again.

Not great. We waited almost 55 minutes between ordering our two meals and them arriving. This is not acceptable and we were just about to leave when the food finally arrived. My wife's first two choices were not available. The place was only half full. I pitied the servers who had to keep apologising for the wait to everyone. Will not be going again.

Nice coffee, friendly prompt service at the bar. Lovely views from the terrace. Looking forward to going in spring and summer.

First time trying this place after reading good reviews and it did not disappoint the food is good quality and they have a good selection of food and drink

Really good food . Nice waiters the only thing is we waited an hour for the food to come and some of the stuff they didn't have in but overall it was amazing!
