Amazing. I never eat such delicious cake in UK. Not too sweet and super flavoursome.

I've heard so much about this place that when we accidently came across it we had to try it out. We were able to get a table without a reservation. I expected a menu with lots of deserts and cakes on. But maybe because it was the morning time, we just got a basic breakfast menu. I could have asked, but I had already decided to buy some things in the shop before leaving. So I had the cinnamon toast, which was very disappointing. But for everything else we bought being delicious the review score would have been much lower.

I finally visited Slattery after wanting to go for 6 years to attempt the famous 'Chocolate Challenge', and it certainly was a challenge.I was defeated, not managing to finish everything, although if I hadn't eaten a pizza 2 hours earlier I may have done it. If I was to reattempt it, I would definitely fast beforehand. All the individual chocolate components were nice, especially the homemade chocolate ice cream, but it was just too much to finish. I was worried the cake would be dry but it wasn't and I really enjoyed it up until the point I ate too much and felt ill! The cake was much bigger than it looked in the photos, but even though it was a huge portion (enough for 2 people to share) £19.99 still seems very expensive for what you get. The only thing that could have been better was the hot chocolate which was just milk in a glass lined with melted chocolate and once vigorously stirred together it didn't taste very chocolately. Also I'm not a fan of whipped cream so I struggled with that, I'd have preferred more ice cream. I wish they did a smaller non-challenge version with smaller portions of everything as it was overall enjoyable. The service was good too, everyone was very friendly and professional. I booked a table online the day before but there was only 2 times available 10am or 3pm, when we got there at 3pm there was lots of tables available so we probably would have got in without a booking at an earlier time.

Visited with my family and the restaurant was full, i suggest booking a table. The food was lovely and really well presented. The afternoon teas were great with their sandwiches and cakes. The cheese and onion pie is a great option if you aren’t a big fan of sandwiches. The shop downstairs also had some great chocolates and cakes to buy. The car park outside is not very big and got quite busy and we found we were waiting around for a while for a space, other than this there were no issues. I would definitely return, the whole place was lovely!

We were seated and served quickly and in a friendly manner. The Afternoon tea was very nice and plentiful. The coffee was excellent. Parking can be a problem but we didn't wait too long for a space.

A fantastic experience - people are very friendly and welcoming - a lovely atmosphere. Usually don't take time to write a review but this experience was so good I had to. Belgian waffles were the best waffles I have had in a verryyyyyy long time - better than Cube or Haute Dolci I'd say and the chocolate was sinply divine. Would definitely recommend and I'd definitely visit again !! The ice cream was supreme too!!

We arranged to visit here en route home. It’s been a few years since we last came and completely forgotten that there was no walk-ins due to Covid. So we called the number and they kindly managed to fit us in 15 minutes later. We had a walk round the shop whilst we were waiting. Once we got our table, we chose the afternoon tea. It seemed very popular as the staff kept bringing these from the kitchen! The afternoon tea was lovely and tasty! We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. There was a piano next to us which could have been louder to create an ambience. But all in all, a lovely place to visit and eat!
