The Hungry Duck in Bury

Staff are fabulous. Food is just ok. I received a beer that was not the same as my previous drink. It was not the best. They have only just taken over, and renamed, the Hungry duck. I hope they sort things out. 4 stars cos the staff are fab

We came to The Hungry Duck for a Sunday Roast and it did not disappoint! Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. We had the sourdough for starter which was lovely and the Rhubarb dessert was also great. The interiors / decor is lovely and the staff are very attentive and friendly too.

Been more than once. Great food, great cocktails and wine selection, great time overall. Definitely coming back again

Absolutely Fabulous!Joe made us feel as though no one else was in the restaurant. He was absolutely fabulous!Of course, the food was to die for.The steak was cooked to perfection. No seasoning required.A relaxed atmosphere, divine food, and absolutely fabulous service. Thank you, Joe!

Popped in for a last minute lunch today and had a lovely time. The set menu was tasty and great value for money and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back. Thank you guys! :-)

My parents went here at the weekend, having been many times before. When the food arrived the starter was too tough to eat and pick off the bone and then the roast beef was so tough and chewy it was practically inedible. The wine was seriously overpriced at £45 a bottle, the same wine in the shops costs £15 a bottle. When the waitress asked if the food was ok, my father explained it was really quite inedible. The waitress became aggressive and shouty. My father asked to see the manager and it turned out this lady was the manager. She told them they were leaving and practically threw their coats at them and refused to let them stay long enough to order a taxi, my mother suffers from altzeimer's and didn't understand what was happening. The lady on the next table was so disgusted she helped my parents outside and told them how shocked she was at the manager's behaviour. How can anyone treat an elderly couple in their 70's like this. The Hungry Duck should be ashamed of their selves! Based on this I would not recommend a visit in a million years.

The things to like: decent wine list, quite nice inside, somewhat professional.Not so good: we were the only ones for lunch at 13:00. A table of 4 later came but people aren’t rushing to the place for lunch which was pretty much congruent with the standard of our food

We visited the establishment for the first time on Saturday evening for our anniversary. Lovely cosy atmosphere and the staff were pleasant and attentive , however slightly intrusive ( stood ) nearby the table whilst enjoying each others company , to the degree I had to politely say something as it was making me feel rather uncomfortable in such a small space.Food was delicious however the portion sizes were rather on the small side, the drinks menu was extensive and the wine list was vast. Further more I felt the prices were on the very expensive side. I don,t mind paying for good food and service but it needs to be more affordable for customers.Would we visit again ? , probably not at those prices.

The food was good but the portions were disappointing small (tiny) and still felt quite Hungry after a 3 course meal. I was asked if I would like some water as we was taken to our seats which I thought would be complimentary has we was ordering drinks too .The water cost £6.50 which i thought was shockingly overpriced . The total bill came to £70 pounds which i felt was worth no more than £50 and that's being generous as I have had many meals out. The staff was freindly and efficient. Nice place just very expensive and they need to increase there portions .

Incredible quality food, locally sourced, fresh as you like, home made rhubarb gin is to die for! Stunning light desserts, perfect end to a Sunday! Thank you so much to the wonderful and friendly staff, we were served by the lovely Hannah, very welcoming and knowledgeable about their menu! Thanks so much, we will be back!
