The Robert Peel in Bury

What can you say? If you want a standard recipe Spoons, here you have it. Set in a quietish setting, the Peel is no frills, not singing nor dancing place, but it it's light and bright, roomy and uncluttered with glass to front and rear. The food was as expected which means it was good, of you get me. Recent experiences of Spoons have made for some disappointment but this place follows the corporate rules so you get exactly what you expect, cheap but cheerful.

Extremely busy and difficult to find a table. Table we got was towards the back of the seating area and we constantly had a draught as staff kept going through a nearby door to go to the rear yard. Went to eat but Menu as for most Wetherspoons its very thin and basic in this pub - soup was sold out how !!! - its a town centre pub with loads of discount shops around it to cover any supplier shortfall - overall only an average visit

Had a few meals here over the last couple of days. Breakfast were good with a decent cup of refillable coffee. All at a reasonable price.

A typical Wetherspoons! Great value food an drinks. Only downside was the number of handpulls not in use, so slightly less beer choice than usual.

Having found a table that was wonky to say the least, I ordered some food. A small breakfast that came with hardly any beans at all and a slither of bacon that looked as though it had been cooked in a dirty frying pan. Upon delivery of this sorry excuse for a breakfast the man said with dreary tone 'It's been one of those days.' How uplifting. I won't be going back here unless I'm seeking misery. Disappointing.

Nice pub... I let rip a cracker in the toilet... a real booming effort...the cubicle returned an excellent loud and clearly defined echo. Well done.

It's not bad, it's what you expect from a Wetherspoons...not as fancy as those k in old theatres but range of tasty ales and food is all I need...👍🍻 Staff friendly and helpful...

Very impressed! Even though it was a busy lunchtime, we got our drinks after a minute having ordered on the app. Our food arrived a few minutes later. Great service

Great food even when very busy. Staff are freindly and helpful. Very competitive prices. Enjoyed the environment and views from Windows. Look at the ancient castle remains at the back, and old buildings around. Good place to eat after shopping in the market.

Food was great drinks were needed on a hot summers day. A little issue with the app let's you order thing's that they have run out of, apart from this was a pleasure to visit
