Beautiful pub with lovely atmosphere. Friendly& helpful staff. Large menu. Food presented beautifully on pink plates for ladies, blue for men. Loved it.

Absolutely lovely establishment, friendly service, accommodating, plenty of parking, nice atmosphere. Had finger food which was tasty and greatly appreciated. Have never been here before came to attend a family funeral. Will definitely return in summer. Thank you Red Lion.

Absolutely perfect. We could not Recommend the Red Lion enough. We live in Manchester. So you could smile when we say we booked a nights “holiday”in Bury. A mere 16 miles from home, but a world away from the hustle and bustle of Manchester. We stayed on Friday night with our two dogs, who where made to feel just as welcome as us. Our room was beautiful, with a large tv, a great variety of refreshments and bathroom cosmetics. We went down into the bar about 7pm, to be greeted by Dave, the best bar tender we have met in a long time. What a breath of fresh air it was to see someone take pride in his role. As soon as we walked in he asked us what we would like to drink, when we said what we would like, he offered us a local alternative and told us all about the drink. Him engaging in conversation made us feel really welcome right away. He came over with water and treats for the dogs. He didn’t take his eye off the ball all night. So thank you Dave.In fact all of the staff where amazing. Even a member of staff who had clocked off for the night, made a point of coming over to talk to us and the dogs. The food was beautiful, both our evening meal and breakfast was beautiful. With local produce used, we could really taste the quality of the food. We can honestly say we woke up feeling refreshed from our little “holiday”We will be visiting again. And I recommend anyone to do so too.

Busy pub for Sunday afternoon service. Staff were excellent and the food was delicious. They were happy to cater to our fussy eater. We will definitely be back.

A group of 9 of us went for a Christmas meal. Our individual choices resulted with us trying all items on the menu (not vegetarian). All enjoyed every course, the food was well cooked and presented. Staff very friendly and there was no pressure to eat up and leave. After we finished the main course they asked if we wanted a15 minute break before the desert which we all happily agreed to. We plan to have another get together there in a few months.

The food was equal to a really good restaurant, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room and ensuite were lovely, spacious and clean. I would highly recommend a visit to this modern but quaint pub

Stayed here for two nights in late October, on a visit from London to see family, and had dinner once with a sizeable group. Our room was very nice, a bit more characterful than the usual corporate hotels, and the breakfast was lovely. Dinner fine too, although I guess they've cut out some of the fancier dishes due to the various problems facing the hospitality sector. All staff were very friendly and efficient. Recommended for anyone on a medium budget visiting the Bolton/Bury area.
