Alexandros Greek Restaurant and Deli in Carlisle

It was okay.When we arrived on a Saturday night we had to wait outside the restaurant as the entrance had three couples in front of us waiting to be seated. After 10 minutes or so we were seated against a wall in the main corridor. This may not suit most people but it suited us as we like to people watch.We were warned on arrival that they had a delay due to a gas problem. I've taken that into account.Our reservation was 2030. We arrived at 2025, got in at 2035. It was 2100 before we gave a drinks order and 2115 when we gave a food order. The wine was pretty low in quality.No problem with a delay on food but that doesn't affect drinks.We ordered 3 dips and bread. It was sent back as the wrong dips arrived and this was sorted promptly.The dips tasted fantastic especially with the two types of bread. I thought the portions were small for two people bearing in mind bread is cheap and therefore proportionately expensive.Very nice tasting though and well presented.Main course was moussaka. Beautifully presented and tasted nice. Not wholly hot but forgivable due to the gas issues. The little side salad that came with it was incredible. An awesome dressing and again, beautifully presented.When we finished it was 2230 which is too long for 2 courses so we elected to leave at that point.It is a nice restaurant and the food is nice. I think the pricing is ambitious. The service was slow.I'd maybe return on a weeknight to see how it compares but not in a hurry.

As always a wonderful meal with wonderful people. I can not recommend Alexandros highly enough, the food is excellent and the staff are exceptional. Aris, Sarah and all the staff make everybody feel special, whether its your first visit or you're a returning regular.

Superb Greek food and wine. Restaurant is owned and run by a Greek family, who were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a really nice evening here and will definitely go back there on a future trip to Carlisle.

A very enjoyable experience. We had a table for 8 including two small children. Most people had the mezze but a few others ordered individual dishes. The food was excellent. The spicy lamb kebabs were my highlight. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

A really lovely early evening meal! We made a booking earlier on and requested to sit outside with our dog. They have some seating areas at the back of the restaurant.There were such a great choice that we couldn’t decide what to pick. In the end, we ordered a selection to try out! The lamb skewers were tender and fresh! The carrot and apricot croquettes were really light and tasty! The halloumi was good too! We ordered a side of Greek salad to compliment the dishes! All very delicious! The garlic pitta bread was lovely too!We also squeezed in a walnut and cinnamon sponge that was drenched in a light syrup. Again, also tasted fresh and light. We had a cup of Greek coffee to go with the dessert!All in all, a fantastic find and definitely will return if we are in Carlisle again! The staff were friendly and helpful!!

Amazing Greek food. We were very happy for every dish we ordered, from starters to the mains were all delicious. Lovely ambiance and friendly staff. The frappe was not what I had had in Greece but still good.
