Brookside Villa B&B in Carlisle

Lovely experience, great hosts, awesome clean rooms and hearty breakfast. Their attention to detail is extreme. I mentioned wanting to read a book that was on their shelf, and when our luggage arrived at the next place, a note with ISBN number was included. Thank you

This is easily the best place that we've stayed. The rooms are really spacious, full of light and feels like home which is really hard to find. The host is lovely has an amazing vibe and made us feel comfortable. The garden outside which is filled with flowers is truly gorgeous and great for pictures. The breakfast was delicious and had a variety of options for vegetarians and vegans. To sum it up I would definitely recommend dropping by at this place if you are coming nearby and we would definitely come back x

We booked an overnight stay at the very last minute online. The booking process was easy and smooth. Upon arrival, we found our room to be airy and comfortable with a modern and delightful feel. Everything was extremely clean and convenient. The bathroom was spacious and the shower hot with good flow. At breakfast, all of the guests sat in a sunny dining area. Our hostess was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, serving a delicious breakfast and offering advice about local sights. This bed and breakfast is located near a portion of Hadrian's Wall, so most guests were either walking the trail or planning to visit one of the nearby forts. All in all, it was a lovely stay at a reasonable price. Thank you very much!

Attention to detail. The owner has thought of everything that walkers would need. Very comfortable bedrooms with a lovely sitting room and honesty bar. Fantastic breakfast and the best packed lunch we have had along the trail. Highly recommended 👌

Brookside is the perfect place to stay if you're hiking Hadrian's Wall. The rooms are spacious and the beds are so comfy, the showers are powerful, plus the toiletries smell amazing! Denise has thought of everything, from a well-stocked bar and lounge area with local beers, to a garden with a list of birds you can spot there. Plus, her breakfasts and packed lunches are so, so good, really fresh ingredients and decent portions. Would definitely recommend you stay here, it's a treat!

Had an excellent one night stay on the Hadrians Wall walk. We had a very smooth check-in, and our rooms were excellent. Very Covid secure accommodation. There was a lounge with a lovely self-service bar for the evening which was very relaxing and our breakfast served in the morning was lovely. Fresh, high quality food and cooked by the host. The packed lunch we took was delicious. Would definitely return.

A group of us stopped for 4 nights, using as our base to walk various parts of Adrian's wall.The stay was superb, the friendly service and pleasant manner that all our needs were met throughout stay has never been equalled. Gerry helped us out giving advice of where to start each day and an suggesting the distance that we should cover, even giving us a lift to the start point or picking us up at the end day.Could not reccomend Brookside more highly, if I go to complete the rest of the wall I'd have not hesitation in going back

We stayed one night at Brookside in May as part of a walking holiday; Denise was an excellent host; warm and welcoming; the bedroom was very roomy, stylish and clean; evening meal was absolutely delicious. We were particularly grateful to Denise the next day when there was a mix-up and our luggage did not arrive at the next port of call; Denise kindly offered to ring the courier to find out where it had been delivered, for which we were extremely grateful. Would definitely like to return in the future.

Wonderful B&B! I stayed there during my walk across Hadrian's Wall. Denise was incredibly welcoming! I particularly liked the wide array of drinks available in the living room. The nearest pub is a little walk away, so I recommend ordering dinner in advance and eating at Brookside. Both dinner and breakfast the next morning were delicious!
