Farlam Hall in Carlisle

Simply outstanding, Myself and my wife stayed there for a couple of nights this week. We both had a wonderful time, fabulous food, lovely room but what I think makes a great hotel is its staff they were wonderful you were treated like one of the family always chatting to us and showed interest in all its guests including us. We asked if we could come again and they said yes, we will revisit as some point, but one of the highlights was the tasting menu with the different wines, well what can I say one of the best meals I've ever had, simply fabulous!

Coming back from Alston yesterday after some 'Jubilee celebrations' we decided to pop into 'Farlam Hall' for some tea and cake. Great decision, as it was a lovely experience. The hotel is stunning in every respect, inside and outside. Special mention goes to Sandra who greeted us and made us feel really welcome and also to Ophelia and Charlotte who were also excellent in their serving to us some fantastic lemon cake and cookies with our tea. All three members of staff who dealt with us were very professional and are obviously very skilled in hospitality.

We didn't stay overnight, but popped in for a drink. Such a lovely place, in a great location. Customer service was excellent and the toilets were very, very clean. Would definitely like to spend a few days here, on our next visit

Booked Afternoon Tea for my wife's birthday via Groupon. Beautiful grounds, immaculate presentation throughout all areas we saw. Excellent service throughout from the booking confirmation to the greeting at the door and friendly professional service during the lovely afternoon tea. Lovely table setting and gorgeous food. Absolutely would recommend. Would have happily paid the full price.

Sunday lunch - excellent, superb service, beautiful surroundings & lovely meal.A few minor additions would have been great - ie. children's portions, bread on the table & perhaps a choc with the coffee? Just suggestions as we were more than happy with the visit & will go again. Thank you to the staff who were so helpful & friendly - what a difference it makes.

Myself and three friends booked in for afternoon tea, The food was lovely, the Hotel is beautifully furnished, the location was stunning and the staff gave us excellent service and were all more than friendly and helpful.I can highly recommend a visit.

So glad we found this hotel. immaculate rooms, attentive and thoughtful staff. We booked the tasting menu for dinner . Each course was a beautifully presented culinary work of art, perfectly cooked with balanced exquisite flavours. Superb!! Excellent wine list. Spoilt for choice at breakfast! Great selection, excellent local produce. A fantastic place to stay for a relaxing or romantic break or for exploring the local area. Easy access to the A69 including Hadrians Wall. We’ll definitely be rebooking! We had an absolutely perfect stay.

Fantastic hotel set in amazing grounds and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our room was stunning and the dinner we had each night was delicious. All in all a great break away.

Our stay couldn't have been more perfect. Our room was upgraded and was amazing with a beautiful bathroom and luxurious bedroom. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. After enjoying drinks in the bar we had the tasting menu which was sublime ..everything was delicious. Highly recommend staying here if you want to be spoilt.

Refined, Quiet, Extremely relaxing. Just what we needed. Brilliant base for exploring Hadrians Wall if you wish to build up an appetite for the excellent restaurant. We stayed an extra night just to eat more food. Recently changed hands and redecorated. We can't wait to come back, certainly must be the best hotel in the area for a relaxing/romantic break. Well done all the staff at Farlam Hall for making our stay an excellent one. Thank you.
