Nothing against the place however I had a chow mein from here and its put me off chinese takeaways for life. Was throwing up constantly and had diarrhoea for 2 days. Bad experience.

I wanted to give this a try and I went back for a second time to hopefully see that it wasn't a restricted menu like the week before. My first visit we arrived around 16:45 some 15 minutes after it opened and there was no food out at all. We just looked at each other and thought is it actually open for business. We were told that the food would be out in about 10 minutes which was ok by the time you got a drink etc. We got 2 pint of coke and the guy serving used an old bottle of coke and a fresh one to top it up and make it fizzy well it was flat so we asked for fresh ones. The starters came out and it was just 2 or 3 chicken on a stick and 2 or 3 prawn toast. This was not what we expected and starters soon ran out and we were the only ones in at that time. The mains came out and it was noodles, fried rice chicken curry and sweet and sour chicken that was it. This was not a buffet at all and to be charged £27 for 2 of us and £5 for two cokes it wasn't a cheap meal out. I had a slice of cake that was left out on the table and it was dry and awful like it was a week old.So we went back again last night around 18:00 and there was a few tables in and once again 2 or 3 starter items were cooked at a time and we had to wait and wait for more starters to come out and people got up and were obviously waiting for the same so again it ran out so we just sat there waiting again. It was the same old mains but they didn't stir them often as it was all congealed and skin forming. Then we kept getting asked if we needed more drinks by different staff even though we had half a pint of coke left it became annoying as hell.If your reading this, you need to increase the amount of food being cooked at one time and have enough food out for your customers and have a variety of food out not just 2 or 3 dishes customers want a buffet to try new things and different things not the same thing all the time and with no choices. Also your plates and bowls are full of cracks and chips this breeds bacteria and whats with all the cardboard boxes under the food table?.The hot plates are not keeping your food warm its cold you may need to change them but the food was cold. At the moment I would not say it was worth £11 a head especially when Shanghai Shanghai do a massive variety of food which is only £8.90 max it may not be the same standard as this but its no wonder your restaurant is empty. Make a few changes and I'm sure you will have all the customers you need and I would come back.

Delicious food, friendly staff large portions and fair priced.. not sure why there isn't more custom?

·

Fast friendly service and excellent meal. Definitely be using this restaurant again Clean and fresh too

Staff were good, no drinks list with menu and had to ask after food was ordered. After that a faultless experience. Good and speedy service. The batter on the starter was excellent, so light and crispy. I would recommend. I think that a lot of people think it has remained closed after the floods, I did. It should be much busier than it is.

This is a really nice Chinese. Having worked in a Chinese takeaway for 17 years I am reluctant to try others, but this was really tasty. We tried the Sunday night buffet, which was great value for money, a great selection of starters and sides and about 6 different mains to choose from. We'll worth the money and will definitely be going back and would recommend to my friends.

Ordered sweet chilli chicken. Don't think it was chicken, it was more like squid, tough and rubbery, like it had cane out of the freezer. I v felt ill all day. Phoned the Golden Pheasant but they weren't interested. They said they d knock the delivery charge off next time. There won't be a next time. Over priced swell.

Food bland: service indifferent; carpet at our table not been vacuumed by about 7pm. Service not good - took 10 minutes to find a bottle of wine advertised on the menu

Not often I leave negative reviews but very disappointed. Free prawn crackers had some weird dried meat in the bottom of the bowl, starters took so long to come we cancelled the mains (which we were relieved about as passing food looked very disappointing) and the crockery was so greasy and covered in fingerprints, chips and mismatched that it made us question how hygienic the food was... From the slimy texture of the cucumber served with the crispy duck I'm guessing not good... Avoid.

Used for years ordered a delivery and forgot half of the two meals we ordered (chips & rice) waited nearly an hour for sweet and sour chicken with no side orders... very unprofessional
