Popped in Friday afternoon for a couple of pints and a burger, beer was cold, burger was good, but the service from the lady behind the bar was exceptional. So friendly. It was pretty obvious from my southern accent that I wasn't a local, but I was made to feel very welcome, which was much appreciated as I was on my own. Thank you very much. As I was only passing through, it's probably unlikely that I'll return, but I would recommend it to anyone, on my experience. Grateful for the free WiFi also.

Don't be put off by the 2 star status of this hotel. It's spotlessly clean, warm, cozy and friendly. The room we had was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We were located at the front of the hotel on a Friday night and other than some traffic noise (which didn't bother us) it was quiet. Facilities in the room included a wall mounted flat screen tv, tea and coffee and a kettle, dressing table and stool plus body wash and shampoo in the bathroom. There was a hairdryer but it wouldn't suit someone with long hair. The water pressure for the shower wasn't great but it's an old building and was adequate. The curtains were a bit thin and may be a problem for light sleepers during Spring and Summer. The hotel bar is great and we had a lovely meal (everything is homemade and cooked to order so waiting time is longer but worth the wait). Breakfast was lovely too and our dog loved his complimentary sausage! It was a lovely stay and we would definitely use it again as a stop off en route to Scotland

Just a basic hotel £85 for a twin room with the bathroom down the hall. Breakfast was half cooked sausage half cooked bacon and half cooked toast.

The food was nice pub grub. The staff very pleasant. When we arrived, a party of 6 adults, the table, that we had booked was barely big enough for 3! They offered us the dining room but we had a dog with us. Very kindly the couple on the next table offered to move along a table giving us 2 tables. Without that I don't think they could have accommodated us. All well in the end as the food was very nice.

It is what it is, if you want a standard premier Inn experience you won't find it. But if you want somewhere that's a solid base for either a stop off or a base for walking is great. We stayed in the four poster room and slept like a log. The room has single glazing so might be more of an issue on a Friday or Saturday night. Water pressure in the shower was not great but neither is it at my parents, it is what it is. The parking is on road but we had no issues and we arrived at 11 thanks to m6 closures.Decent breakfast choices, friendly staff. We would definitely consider it as a stop off again.

Stayed overnight. Had a nice evening meal, good choice on menu and also specials board. Had meal in dining room then moved into bar. Single room was clean and comfortable, had a good night's sleep. Lovely breakfast with choice of English, Irish and veggie breakfasts. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again

To add to my last post I would of removed my review if they contacted me to explain why the food that day was so poor but they never they contacted my girlfriend and harassed her by text message and made her feel like she wasn't made welcome in the establishment anymore. I feel this is totally out of order and if they had a problem should of contacted me than pick on a single mother this has made me sick how a hotel could do business this way. I am more than happy to post the messages if people need to see how they conduct their business
