Really nice. Staff were lovely. I had a huge pile of toppings on pancakes. 6 of us and a dog had a lovely breakfast here.

Stopped in for a light lunch today (a Sunday). My husband had been here before on a Saturday and said the food was really good and the service friendly. It was busy, granted, but also understaffed. Seemed to be too few wait staff for the full restaurant and we waited quite a while for someone to take our order. I ordered a red pepper and cheese quiche (one of the day's specials) and my husband ordered a steak and onion baguette. My quiche wasn't warm all the way through and had no flavour to speak of. The side salad was a heap of lettuce, red onion rings, 3 cherry tomato halves and 2 strips of yellow pepper. Husband's baguette was also bland. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day. Can't fault the wait staff who were very friendly, but the food was honestly mediocre.

Visited Laings, Cumbria 20/8/2022, visited in the past and no complaints BUT very disappointed today.1/ Given a table waited awhile when they came to take our order we was informed the wait was 30 minutes upwards.WHY didn’t they tell us that before being given a table??2/ Ordered prawn sandwiches only ate half - Due to prawns being very dry, tasted like they might have been thawed out in microwave - quantity of prawns very few - bread no butter, and prawn sauce very pale - watery and tasteless. Told the waitress which she apologised about. No offer of refund. Went to pay, and again told the cashier, but no offer of refund, I said this had spoilt a lovely day out. , they then said they would knock the cost of the sandwich off the bill.Very very disappointed.

Stopped for a break and a coffee and was surprised to find a terrific restaurant and cake shop. The gift shop was also nice, as was the ice cream and cake shop. Best of all was the lovely and helpful staff. Full marks all round.

A fabulous wee find! A friendly, efficient place stop just off M6 Jn44. We had the Amriacan pancakes and the full English breakfast, each cooked to perfection.. the bacon was delicious! We'll certainly be back next time we are heading up or down the country.

Cold food, sent back, half was still cold but never came to ask if everything is ok. Seem to avoided us rest of the service, has to find someone to take out plates away and bring out dessert that was ordered. Not in rush to go again

Really disappointed the last couple of times as we have had to wait 20 minutes for an English breakfast, then had to wait 20 minutes for a cheese and onion toastie which wasn’t the best. Whether it’s busy or not (which I overheard was the reason we had to wait 20 minutes, customers should be catered for, surely you would now know that Sunday mornings are busy)

Called for a coffee , we parked and walked over to the cafe but couldn't find the entrance. The whole area was so scruffy. The area outside was full of weeds , there were old plant trays outside the presumably back door in a heap, some old car mats lying around .The shop was really strange , empty shelves and boxes of stock under tables . It looks as if it was once a smart shop but is now closing down . We didn't stay for drinks .

Lovely staff who all work hard and are very customer focussed. We had wonderful service there today. Would suggest a review of the location of payment area. Where it is now causes a bottleneck for both staff and customers when you are busy and is in the close proximity of uncovered cakes.

Sunday 10 April we stopped there for a coffee and a chocolate. ÂŁ10 for just the two and 20 minutes in preparation. We had pre-paid so didn't have the option of walking out. We collected these ourselves on the second visit to the counter. The coffee was scorching: no baristas here, We didn't eat. I could see no prices. But the sun was shining out front. It had decent parking but we were on bikes. A 'not to be repeated.experience'.
