Really special place, nice size to feel cosy and the rooms were beustiful, the flowers and the treats were a nice touch. Warm friendly staff who did their jobs excellently, and had an electric point for the car which was an added bonus!

The taster menu was absolutely delicious. One fault was with the room the toilet isn't very private with it having no ceiling and a sliding door.

My Partner and I spent two nights and had two meals at the Pentonbridge Inn as a treat to celebrate my significant Birthday. We have eaten at several Michelin starred Restaurants over the years and the Pentonbridge was either on a par or better than every one of them (surprisingly it does not currently have a Michelin Star). The kitchen worked like a well oiled machine and special mention must go the the crab, the beef tartare, the deer and the most amazing chocolate mousse that I have ever tasted - so good in fact that I had it on both nights. The wine pairings with the food were amazing and well thought out.The Inn is small and situated in a lovely quiet spot close to the Scottish Border, which for us was perfect.The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for them. Special mention to Ross, Ellis and Alex who looked after us in the Restaurant and the lovely Kirsten on Reception.Thank you all very much for making our stay so lovely, we hope to come and stay again in the not too distant future.

Stunning food and a lovely atmosphere, staff were incredibly inviting and we loved watching the chefs prepare the food for us through the open kitchen set up they have there. I’m so full from our stunning 4 courses making it quite difficult to write this review and i would rather just lie down for a sleep, but they deserve 5+ stars and for you to know about this amazing place.Everything was to the highest of standard and we will absolutely be back again.We even turned up on a Wednesday night and it filled up very quickly providing a warm and friendly atmosphere for everyone.

Had an amazing dining experience at PBI. Who would have thought such culinary delights would be nestled in the Cumbrian and Scottish Borders? Top class service, nice and refined-yet relaxed atmosphere. The food was simply to die for and generous. Hopefully return again some day!

Everything, from the welcome, to the little extras, make this a wonderful stay. The food compares to places with Michelin stars; think Hand & Flowers with a tad more finesse, and you've got it. Amazing food, quality rooms, great attention to detail. Detour here!
