Ruen Thai Restaurant in Carlisle

I'll caveat by saying it was between boxing day and new years but we waited 90mins for food. They only had 1 person in the kitchen which is fair enough but they could have told us it was going to be a long time to get served. We weren't looking for a long sit-down meal and only went in because the restaurant was dead and we figured it would be easy to get food.Food itself was okay. The spice is English level spicy, ie the very hot 3 chilli's was still fairly mild.

Excellent Thai restaurant, chef is a lovely Thai lady who really enjoys her work and sometimes comes out to say hi. My wife and I always choose this place over the other two. Give it a go yourself and see if it's your style. The Massaman curry is awesome

Got a takeaway and the rice was not fluffy but dry and rubbery,the sauces were very watery. Very disappointed as have had some nice food from here in the past.

Food is good but 25 minutes late for a takeaway order and not even giving a bag of prawn crackers is poor

King prawn red curry 🥘 incredible!! Great portion sizes including the rice (which is unusual for Thai restaurants generally) Curry was so good I 'slurped' the plate! Thing I liked so much was the spices weren't mild to cater for mild tastes as so many restaurants do these days.. No.. If you want authentic Thai this place hits the spot!! Cannot recommend more highly!!!

The food was nice but they miss off one of the meals from the order, which is fine mistakes happen. The issue I had was you then could get it touch with them. They've left their phone off the receiver so the line is always busy and you can't get in touch though the app and can't apply for a refund. Poor customer service.

Found this little corner Thai restaurant and felt very authentic. We asked if they cooked pad Thai because we could not find it on the menu and they said it was off the menu but they were happy to make it. I honestly felt like i had a home cooked meal. They also came around quite regularly, asking if we were okay and if everything tasted okay! Felt very taken care of. Definitely recommend

Quite disappointing. Staff took starter order but what two of us ordered was not available, so after a few minutes we were asked to order again. The spring rolls were not great. I wasn't impressed by my main dish, though consistency was decent it was bland and lacked the spice. The worst was that the bill came with three mains added plus four rice and chips, totalling £40 more than we expected. Not a great evening for us. The staff didn't seem to have a great plan.

Really good food, at excellent prices. The decor of the restaurant is exceptional - I've never seen such decorative tables in a restaurant before.
