The Penny Farthing Coffee Shop in Carlisle

Whilst staying at the nearby Travel Lodge hotel, my husband and I came here and had a delicious vegetarian full English breakfast. Everything was freshly cooked by the very friendly owner, Lynn. Great service and value for money, clean and welcoming.

My son and I stayed at the Travel Lodge Central but having seen the breakfast items for ourselves, decided not to bother. We found the Penny Farthing by chance and were so glad we stopped off there for breakfast. First it was cheaper than the plastic and rubber looking food at the Travel Lodge, and second it was freshly cooked by a lovely lady who clearly took the time and care. If you are staying at the Travel Lodge, have breakfast at the Penny Farthing which is two minutes around the corner.

The ladies here are welcoming and the selection of food and drink is great. This is a fab place to pop to grab some breakfast or lunch before heading into town.

First time ordering and I was not impressed. Baguette came with one slice of bacon chopped into strips with scissors and sprinkled through out. Same with sausage. Giving you less food in a baugget than you would typically get in a roll

Had a great all day breakfast, were happy to change things for us, lovely home made food, friendly and helpful staff. Lots of delivery orders going out while we were sat there. ☺️

This is a quaint little place and serve a lovely breakfast. The lady was by herself but cooked most from fresh so not complaining. Very friendly, clean, offer eat in, take away, pre-order, just eat delivery and cater for events.
