vallum house in Carlisle

My husband, granddaughter and myself had a lovely meal at Vallum house hotel today. We haven't been for years, ever since the last owners had bluebottles inside and on the food. It has changed hands and the owner is a very nice man. I love the change in decor and the roman pictures and helmets on the walls are brilliant. The food was excellent and would recommend going there. We will definitely be going back!!

Arrived late in the evening due to traffic. Owners were really helpful and accommodating. Room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was great, good choices. Nice and clean, covid safe. Will definitely be going back.

Pleasant and helpful staff. The food was good - a lovely old fashioned place. Bar staff did well with a full bar.

Came to the funeral today we were very well looked after buffet was really nice lovely setting to talk about our memories thankyou

Rooms are very clean. The staff are very friendly and the meals are top class. I would definitely stay again

Well kept hotel, cheerfully run, including an adequate stocked bar. Rooms were very clean and bedding/towels were terrific. Rooms had TV and usual courtesy tray with tea/coffee/biscuits. Well situated for Hadrian's Wall especially for those coming in to Carlisle from Bowness.

There was only one veggie option but it was really, really nice. Couldn't decide on dessert there were so many good options so me and my boyfriend ordered different ones and shared. Really friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere.

This is well under rated . The best Guest House I have ever stayed in. Stayed with my fiancee and three dogs the weather was atrocious but Elaine , food and accommodation made our stay so bright. The rooms lovely , staff friendly and both evening meal and breakfast superb. Will be back

Lovely family run hotel rooms are lovely and clean and the restaurant has a varied menu. The food is lovely and hot. Breakfast was good as well. Will be going back for my return journey

Four of us came here for my dad's birthday last weekend and had nothing but fantastic service. We had perfect drinks, the food was fantastic and I know my mum and dad have been here before so next time I'm up from work we shall be back.
