Popped in for Sunday family meal. The pub wasn’t busy. Ordered and received our drinks quickly then were waited 30 minutes to order so went to the bar for another round of drinks and asked if we could order our food, they said they would be straight over to the table with our drinks and to get our food order. Guest arriving after us got served quicker. We sat for another 15 minutes, no drinks, food order made so decides to pay for drinks we had had and leave. We had no explanation and got a very unsatisfactory apology. Will not be going back, I wouldn’t really give 1 star but can’t give zero!

Ordered a roast beef Sunday dinner and an apple and blackberry crumble pie. Whilst the food tasted good, the portion sizes were on the small side. I could have mistaken my meal for a child's portion; 2 slices of beef, 3 fairly small roast potatoes and a jug of gravy that didn't even cover half of the meal. When the crumble turned up, it was served in the usual china dish, but only covered half of it. I can only assume the small portions were down to us telling them in advance that we were paying with Clubcard vouchers, as I have not seen many reviews commenting on this particular issue, which was a shame as better portion sizes would have meant a better rating.

Beer ok. I'm sorry the food was at best average. Had all the feel of a chain pub grub. Suspect most was pinged in the microwave.

The Blacksmiths does appear to have improved since my last visit, the interior does look revamped and the selection of beers available is even better. We ordered food and let's be honest, it is not going to be Michelin starred, but the food is sound and is also good value for money, so I have no complaints. The beer garden to the rear, whilst suffering a little from road noise, is deceptively spacious and we enjoyed a pleasant evening sat in the sun. On my latest visit nothing much has changed the food is still sound, not crowded at all

Good family dining, in light and airy surroundings. Food reasonably priced. Meals were as described. Would benefit from more vegan choices or promotion of adapting on request. Would however definitely recommend.

Came for tea with family a few weeks ago, booked for the festive menu and pre ordered before hand. Food and service was good as always. Lovely set up on the table with crackers. Will be back in the New Year.

Visited the Blacksmiths Arms on Thursday to meet up with my husbands brother. We enjoyed our main meals and we all had a dessert afterwards which was also really scrumptious. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We were so pleased with the quality of the meals and will go again in the new year.

Don't go there often but usually a lovely experience. Sadly yesterday was anything but (12/122/21. A birthday meal was spoilt by dirty cutlery, completely overcooked in fact burned meals, clearly no pride taken by kitchen staff, roast potatoes and stuffing black. Why would you send something like that out. One child received the wrong meal and again what was send was rock hard and inedible. We really should have sent the meals back.. Did complain and had one of the deserts given free!!!On the plus side lovely staff , lovely pub but will we return possibly but only because of our previous visits. However if this had been our first time, well definitely not

Had signature hunters chicken meal there. The chicken and gammon main portion was starter sized and looked like being served whatever was left. Definitely not ÂŁ13.79 price worth. I raised it with a staff member who said that was the usual size, amazed but hard to argue with that. It included onion rings which was literally two 50p pence sized rings. This all sound like an exaggeration but truly not. Chicken was dry and overcooked too. Didn't complain about that, maybe should've but just wanted to go really. Very disappointed. Go there regularly but probably not any more.

Great family pub, dog friendly. Food is pretty good for the price and a decent range of booze. Loads of parking and a nice walk from Henbury/Whirley
