Great night away, had booked a couples massage and unfortunately the times had been changed by staff so we had to have it at separate times, definitely did spoil it a little. We ordered our dinner to the room as we were in the suite. Came quickly but unfortunately it was like warm, not covered with anything which put us off. The spa was nice and breakfast was ok. Hopefully next time it will be 5 stars

I've stayed in lots of hotels over the years but this has to be the best ever. From check in to check out everything was perfect. Afternoon tea was served promptly by friendly staff and was very tasty. The evening meal was chosen from a wide selection and cooked fresh and again served by polite friendly staff. The restaurant manager (think he was) had heard me wish my wife a happy birthday and after we had eaten our mains presented her with a slate plate with Happy Birthday done in white chocolate sauce with berries, small meringue and chocolate pieces, this was unexpected and she was over the moon to say the least. The dessert of lemon meringue was out of this world and presented so well. Breakfast today was how can i put it, well there is so much to choose from and all cooked fresh. The room itself was huge as was the bed and so comfy. All in all it was a perfect experience and i hope we can return one day in the not too distant future.

Great location with friendly helpful staff. We ate in Browns and the food was first class. I have lowered the rating on the room due to its location (room 100). It's next to the lift and the entrance to hotel rooms, so was quite noisy. Also was awakened at 4.00am due to the laundry van parked right outside our window, rolling cages in and out of the truck for a good 20 minutes. However the room was clean and the bed very comfortable with good tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast has everything you could want and again was first class. All in all I would thoroughly recommend but don't get put in room 100!

The venue is really nice, in grounds dating back to 1083! The hotel is clean and tidy and modern. The two restaurants are nice with a good selection of food and drink. The spa is good, but a few of the spa rooms were not working when we attended, and when you really start looking at the details, it could be better. Note that the hotel is to the south west of Manchester Airport, and the planes can be seen and heard.

Had a night in the hotel with High Tea which was lovely. We had dinner later which was excellent. We booked a round of golf also. The course was in excellent condition until you reached the greens, most of them were very wet. Our feet leaving deep footmarks. This was in March and the weathers been poor, so this may be a little understandable. I definitely want to play it in summer.

Had a lovely stay in this hotel, one thing that did let it all down and spoilt it for me and my partner was the way the general manager spoke to us after having to move hotel due to a power cut on the first night, there was no effort made to compensate or make up for the inconvenience, all he could say was it’s not our fault and we’ve lost out on twenty five grand, I do understand the power cut is not something the hotel can help as it was due to bad weather but surely there is a better way to speak to customers then to completely disregard us and belittle us, this did put a massive downer on our anniversary weekend, I will definitely not be recommending this hotel to any friends or family after this as the way we were spoken to is not acceptable at all especially when a weekend supposed to be full of relaxation turns to stress and last minute running around trying to find another hotel. However the spa staff were a credit to the mere and helped us finally relax on the second day of our break which did improve our whole experience massively.

Bought my mum away for her birthday & what a treat this hotel is! Everything in the hotel is top quality from the beds, the linen, the towels and extras. The room was spacious & relaxing with surprising extras such as movies & french doors. A tablet with hotel information was informative & made booking dinner plus a late check-out very easy. With underfloor heating & a deep, relaxing hot bath it gave us just what we needed after a long day shopping.Worth far more though than the attention to detail in the rooms are the fantastic staff in the hotel, who are so attentive and warm and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them and we were really looked after, particularly by Adrian at the lobby. We will certainly be returning and are planning our next trip! Thank you so much

Truly beautiful Hotel set in perfect surroundings. Stayed for a romantic relaxing weekend the SPA was very nice and not busy at all. Rooms were stunning and the beds one of the most comfortable I’ve stayed in. Room service was great too ordered breakfast to be brought to the room for 9am and came on time, hot and cooked to perfection. The staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times. We will be back again!

Enjoyed a really nice afternoon tea and overnight stay with breakfast at the weekend. This is a lovely hotel and the room was very comfortable, warm and cozy on a wet and cold night. Great selection of films to watch on the TV.The staff were very helpful. The only reason I have given 1 star less is because the room service food was very expensive for the portion sizes. I had the vegan burger and it was very dry and came with no condiments. The breakfast is buffet and was good but could be better and I would have expected menu service for a hotel of this calibre. Will be looking to stay again.

We recently visited for the Autumn Spa day..From start to finish - loved it!!This was a birthday gift which included use of the facilities, a full body massage & afternoon tea for 2. The birthday boy left feeling very relaxed .. the only problem was diving right back in to reality as we left!Highly recommend. The facilities are brilliant, nice warm pool too which helps! The massage was good, the afternoon tea was lovely. All the staff were welcoming & aided the relaxed feeling with their calmness. If your thinking of booking the spa days go for it! You shouldn't be disappointed!
