Cafe Waterside in Cheshire East

Glad to be accommodated when busy, but the food was unpleasant & crockery dirty. Off putting. The ‘dirt’ doesn’t seem to come off so I’m guessing it’s some damage from the dishwasher, still felt horrid. (See picture).Baked potato with beans and cheese had the weird, rancid flavour of a stored, reheated one. No butter. Small ramekin of beans and a spare few leaves for garnish. I was hungry. It was kinda nasty.Compensated myself with gluten free cake & had to intervene with the girl who was serving it with a cakey knife pulled from a jug of water! The cake was wet and mushy, it was actually unpleasant.I don’t need the stress of complaining. It’s not the fault of the till girl. All of this needs addressing by the person who owns the cafe.Some allergy based food handling training much needed!

Nice place to stop off for food service good with accommodating, friendly staff

Waterside is the dogwalk midway stop for brunch with my 2 Schnauzers and my next door neighbour Phil, been coming here weekly for the last 4 months.The food is always hot and very tasty, reasonably priced as well. Never had a problem getting a seat, we usually arrive about 10:30, have been later and its very busy , there is always outside canal side seating but best booking if attending with a large party.

Very nice full English breakfast, with friendly service. The place was packed, and we were very lucky to get the last table for two - at 10:50am on a Friday, that just shows how popular the place is!I don't like egg or tomato but they are part of the breakfast for those interested (and I'm sorry to have taken a bite out of the sausage before I thought to take the picture!).Lunch options looked terrific for later, too.Well worth a visit 👍

Highky recommend. Friendly efficient service. Good coffee. Absolutely delicious homemade soup and sourdough bread. Dog friendly inside and out. Next time when I have room I am going for a cake - they look amazing!

Had better. Jacket potatoe was a hassle back potatoe with a spoonful ontop of it. The point of a jacket is to have plenty of filling. This one didn't. Also ordered was a burger which was bland.

We were recommended to you and you didn’t disappoint . The food is delicious. Matilda was particularly polite and provided excellent service throughout the evening. All staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble even though we were a large group. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an enjoyable evening

A lovely cafe inside Clarence Mill, beside the canal. Seating inside (up some fairly steep steps) and outside on the level. A really peaceful place to sit and watch the boats go by. Today, we just had tea-for-2 and toasted teacakes, but there is a good range of brunch options and light lunches. Tea comes with vintage bone china cups and saucers: a nice touch! The teacakes were tasty and came with jam (though I’m not sure how I feel about that - good butter is all that a good toasted tea cake needs 😂).Service was prompt and friendly.This was our second time here and we will definitely be back!

Fabulous canal side cafe with delicious homemade food, we had the chicken wrap and falafel wrap followed by the clementine and almond cake which was lovely and moist😋. We found this wonderful cafe last year, end of July. It was so nice that we came back yday especially for lunch. We live near Chester. It was a lovely day out
