Cathay Princess in Cheshire East

Have used this takeaway for a few years. Really disappointed ordered to many chips by mistake, rang them up they refuse to give me refund yet on website it states the takeaway can sort refunds!?! Won't order from again

Placed an order with this takeaway as usual on a Friday. Food never arrived, Rang restaurant to be told driver was lost, didn’t speak English. So messages were transferred from staff to driver without success. Doesn’t look like we’re getting a refund either. Avoid Staff hundred up when asked for a refund. So out of pocket and NO food either

The food we’ve had from Cathay Princess has always been very good. Unfortunately, our last two orders (6-7 weeks apart) have meant we can’t order from here again.Twice now we’ve ordered around 6.30pm and not received our food until gone 10.30pm. Nobody wants to eat that late when you were ready to eat around 7.30pm (as you’d usually give an hour for delivery on busy evenings).The excuses and the constant “it’ll be another 20 minutes”, when in fact it took another 2 hours, just compound the misery. They also refused to allow us to cancel with a refund on the evening or part refund us for ruining the evening.As I say, great food but hopelessly unreliable. We’ve had a 100% hit rate of ruined evenings in 2021.

Avoid this place unless you want to be completely screwed around.We used to get food from here all the time... until tonight. Tonight they took the order at 6pm saying it would be delivered by 7pm. After 7 I rang them to see why it hadn't arrived and was told it would be another half an hour. Forty minutes later I rang back and was fobbed off again with another half hour. After another half hour elapsed they eventually rang us and said they weren't going to deliver it at all without giving a reason. They gave us a number to call to get our money back but the number is a recorded message saying closed until Monday! We've now got a house full of tired and hungry kids and are well out of pocket.Won't be going here again.

I have been using Cathay Princess for donkeys years now but just recently the service is slipping. Wrong opening times, online orders delayed, delivery times double what they’ve promised. Food is still great but unless they get the basics right, they’ll be losing a lot of customers

Warning - do not order from here. Ordered satay chicken and received plastic chicken in grease sauce. When we phoned up to tell them I was told persistently that it was satay sauce and I was wrong and didnt know what satay sauce looks and tastes like.The salt and pepper chips arrived sweating with random pieces of onions in there, and are not chips but cheap frozen fries. Wouldn't have paid a pound for them but ended up paying £4.40.Terrible customer service and rude staff, I question the hygiene of this place after the order due to the poor quality of the food.So £25 for a tub of noodles and a few puks of meat, a singular prawn, one chicken in indeterminate greasy sauce, some sweaty frozen chips and a duck fried rice which was the only edible meal. Feeling totally ripped off.See pictures for evidence.

This place doesn't look like much but the food was lovely. We all enjoyed it very much and was very reasonably priced.

After reading the recent bad reviews... I had to leave my own review.. I’ve ordered from Cathay princess as much as twice a week every week for many years.. I’ve tried others and always disappointed (mainly on a Tuesday) Delivery and take away in my opinion its the best Chinese in Crewe especially for the house curry special however all the food is great and we have a good mixture. Some have mentioned bad chicken?!?!Never once had a problem, always top notch food something any other Chinese can’t keep up with and Ive tried them all, I’m disappointed when it’s a Tuesday and there closed.. so give them a chance as others have said looks nothing from outside..But it’s what’s within...Some small minded people after having maybe one bad experience don’t know what affect one or two bad reviews can make on a business.. this is family run and I’d like to thank you all for the great quality food you serve!!!And if your reading this and saying well lucky horse serve better portions...Go there then .. to me that’s a dogs dinner and it’s about quality over quantity.thank you Cathay princess.. daughter, mam and dad.Mark

Can you give 0 stars?If you could this is where it would be going.I have to say their food is pretty decent in general. But if you order it and its takes over 2 hours to arrive, then it's cold when it does arrive you expect that the restaurant would offer you some kind of refund. (Unfortunely I ordered and paid through paypal online and not cash on arrival)So a word of caution if you do order from this restaurant. Do not pay by any means other than cash and if you get the service I did refuse payment and make the owners realise you cant treat customers in this way

Just spent £40 between 3 people, all chicken based meals, just to receive elastic chicken, every single piece of chicken is like biting a elastic band, and to be honest it doesn't look like chicken either. the best they could do is send 1 free salt&pepper chicken box, even though there is 3 of us, no type of refund at all, definitely the worst Chinese in crewe, will not be ordering from here again. On the plus side my can of coke was great.
