Really looking forward to visiting with the Cholmondeley since the it reopened. It was very quiet considering it was a Saturday night. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and decor. Unfortunately, the menu is less desirable. On the nibbles side there are very limited appetisers, and no vegetarian options (perhaps consider adding olives/bread). There are no salad options and only one vegetarian option. I asked if they had any other vegetarian options to the simple reply “no”. After deciding to have a starter for a main due to little choice, the starter I chose was unavailable. Leading me to have the only veggie option. Cheese and potato pie, accompanied by chips. Was a complete overload of potatoes, and the pastry was that thick it probably would have been strong enough to build a house. The night was completely disappointing, the menu needs rethinking.

Phoned to book a meal but this pub/restaurant is closed until Spring '22 not sure why but well worth a visit when it re- opens, hopefully a similar venue.

Visited here for a few drinks and will be coming back to try the food it looked amazing. The drinks were lovely. Staff were so friendly and accommodating and another bonus is it's dog friendly.

Lovely food and excellent service. Beautiful old converted school house on the cholmondly Estate. Good lighting and ambience. They even let me stop over in my van and I enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the morning highly recommended 🍻

What a lovely, charming pub/restaurant/meeting place. It's a converted school with so much charm. It also has a gin distillery & lots of gin if you're a gin fan. I loved the building and could have spent many hours sitting enjoying the ambiance. I liked the look of the food on offer but didn't eat there on the day. I would love to go back and I certainly will one day soon.

Characterful, unique pub with a Victorian ambience, but management of food and table reservations needs urgent reform. Some regulars treat their seats as thrones and reserve empty places as their own while they sit elsewhere. Cleanliness problems underneath tables with discarded food left on the floor.

A lovely award winning gin bar! Friendly staff and a great selection of drinks. The setting is also very unique, where they have converted an old school into a bar. Great vibes!

What a find, recommend by a local when looking for a 'good' place for Sunday lunch. It's not good it's superb! We had the roast beef and the fish & chips with a pint of the local 'best'.

A walk-in to this lovely old school house was a bonus. The staff are always attentive and helpful. We had a table inside, the menu was amazing, we chose the Sea Bass, it was huge😅 and a glass of wine from Sicily. Perfect pairing. Happy customers. Thank you Cholmondeley Arms. PS we will have to work through the 366 gins, on their list, another day😁🤣.

I was very disappointed. The service was beyond poor. We waited for 15 minutes before anyone even came over to take our order. Other customers who had arrived after us were being served before us. One waitress eventually, reluctantly, took our order. She looked like she didn't want to be there and spoke to us as if we had done something wrong. Since then, I've spoken to a few other individuals who have had similar experiences. On the positive side, the other staff seemed friendly enough, the beer was good and the place itself is very pretty. Unfortunately, I do expect to be treated like a human being when I visit a pub. I won't be visiting again. I'd rather visit a smaller, less pretentious place and spend my money there.
