Wonderful staff ,and the tastiest food 😀 make sure you have a good appetite as the servings are big ,great value for money .would definitely stop there again . An old school house but great decor 👌 ,and the toilets are spotless .

Beautiful venue/location. Lots to look at inside & out. Shame about the bar service, definitely not reflected on the price. 3 out of 4 meals were excellent & the 4th was refunded. Will definitely be back now there are more veggie/vegan options.

We have enjoyed incredible meals over the years but today the lunch was at an all time low.The pastry on the steak and kidney pie was like concrete, very thick and very dry.And the steak was tough as old rope.The minty pees and chips were fine.The jam roly-poly pastry was again so hard that if it wasn’t for the custard, it would have ended up all over the restaurant, cutting into it was a struggle. The Eaton mess was not nice at all.It was embarrassing having taken some relatives there after praising it so highly.Come on guys you need to up your gameWe won’t be darkening your doorstep until we hear that your food standards have improved.Very disappointed!

Lovely pub, nice to see it back open, they are still looking for staff so you had to order at the bar but they brought food over and drinks when ordered in addition to the food coming. Had fish and chips, which was a massive portion, lovely batter and then they do also have additional specials alongside main menu which is seasonal.Worth a trip :-)

Nice location and impressive pub. Food menu very good (though not so much choice if you are vegetarian). Food was good quality - though unfortunately we had a fairly significant wait between starters and main (~30 mins) - a little disappointing (not busy at the time so not sure what the issue was here).

Absolutely stunning establishment,very friendly staff. Absolutely amazing food. Cooked to perfection and presented exceptionally well.Most definitely a place we will return. As it was a quick stop after being at Oulton park circuit for the day.Sadly we wanted to stay but the accomodation was closed for refurbishment until approximately August 2022.It is a dog friendly place.I would certainly recommend a visit and make your own mind up 👌👌

Lovely country pub. Stopped in for a drink after Bank Holiday Monday at the Castle. Lovely choice of craft ales, always essential. Lovely staff as well.

The food, the drinks, the decor, the staff all 10/10 rebooked to come against whilst we were there it was that good! Really dog friendly too.

Really looking forward to visiting with the Cholmondeley since the it reopened. It was very quiet considering it was a Saturday night. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and decor. Unfortunately, the menu is less desirable. On the nibbles side there are very limited appetisers, and no vegetarian options (perhaps consider adding olives/bread). There are no salad options and only one vegetarian option. I asked if they had any other vegetarian options to the simple reply “no”. After deciding to have a starter for a main due to little choice, the starter I chose was unavailable. Leading me to have the only veggie option. Cheese and potato pie, accompanied by chips. Was a complete overload of potatoes, and the pastry was that thick it probably would have been strong enough to build a house. The night was completely disappointing, the menu needs rethinking.
