Gardener's Cottage in Cheshire East
Where is Gardener's Cottage?
🏠Tatton Park, Knutsford WA16 6QN
"The Gardener's Cottage is currently closed to help restrict the spread of coronavirus. Tatton offers an exclusive dining experience in the beautiful setting of its famous award winning gardens. The former head Gardener’s Cottage, just inside the Stableyard, is the perfect location for a relaxing specialty coffee, lunch or afternoon tea. Full of cosy, cottage character you’ll have the option to be served inside or out (weather permitting) with views of the garden’s beautiful orchard and walled gardens."

Great service and lovely setting but why do so many places like this serve x10 more loose tea than necessary? Think how much is in a tea bag. Why would I want to drink 20 tea bags of tea?

Afternoon tea was nice enough, but soft drinks choices were poor.

Unprofessional staff at the entrance. Took 10 min to tell us they had a table for us outside, then no table outside, only inside..Then MAYBE they had a tableAfter this a guy that doesn't know how to wear a tie jumped in to "help". Suddenly the table was only upstairs and having a kid with the pushchair was not a very convenient solution.So.... no tableHorrific, never again

An absolute gem of a place! We enjoyed bubbles and butties here earlier in August after getting married in the morning in Crewe. The team were so excited to welcome us to the room which they had personally decorated with hand-picked flowers from the gardens. They were also on hand with umbrellas to usher us in and out as the rain threatened to dampen proceedings (no chance with the team at the Gardener's Cottage about!)If you're after a charming, quintessentially English-feel venue to celebrate any occasion, look no further than the pearl in the park that is Tatton's Gardener's Cottage. Amazing staff, superb food, we're still grinning from ear to ear nearly a fortnight later :-) Deb & Tom Pilcher xx

Nice place with lovely gardens and outdoor seating areas. We had sandwiches with tea each. I honestly think sandwiches were very overpriced for what they were. They were okay but definitely not worth the price.Maybe worth visiting just for cake and coffee…

Tatton Park is local to us.We love visiting this beautiful NT gem. This time was extra special because of the current countrywide health circumstances. So lovely to relax in beautiful surroundings.

Was lucky enough to win afternoon tea here and it was great. The green tea butterfly cake was delicious. We sat in a nice room overlooking the garden. Pleasant staff and the manager was lovely.

Very Pleasant location and have been a few times. On this visit as all tables undercover outside were taken (it was a hot day) we decided to sit inside. We chose scone, tea and coffee. When scone arrived it had been heated and was hot. ...microwaved from frozen? Tea and coffee OK but one cup on our table set for use was cracked. Prices seem to have increased considerably since our last visit in Autumn 2017.....hence 4 stars.

We've been several times, more pricey than main cafe, more traditional, selection of gluten free cakes. Gf Bread available with soup and maybe sandwiches (check). Quaint cottage great service.

Trying to get anything out of this place is like drawing blood from a stone. If you want to make plans and stick to them then I advise looking elsewhere! I asked to make a reservation for mothers day the week before and they told me they could reserve a place but I would need to pay before the booking, so I confirmed the booking with my family and tried to ring back but no response. Left a voicemail asking them to ring me back when they open (only open Fri sat sun) and I would pay. Friday came and nothing from them. Rang again, no response. Rang at least 15 times on Saturday only to get a voicemail back saying sorry no tables available when the booking was for Sunday. Didn't even apologise the fact that it was their mess up. Had to find somewhere else last minute. Terrible experience, would not recommend.
