Golden Pheasant in Cheshire East

Delicious lunch! Prawn cocktail starter, (×2) pan fried chicken breast with new potatoes, and cheese and onion pie. Great value. Will be back!

We where a large party and the Golden Pheasant fitted our lunch group in at short notice. We where in the Garden room which is light and airy.As someone who is lactose intolerance I let the staff know and they did check if they had oat milk for coffee unfortunately they didn't apart from that I was able to pick main and starter I could eat. The food are large, was nicely presented and hot. We are making plan for our lunch group to return.

Lovely quaint hotel. Rooms are dated but adds to the theme. Comfortable beds and very spacious rooms. Was busy in the restaurant but food was OK. Great choice too. Breakfast was lovely too

Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to The Golden Pheasant, I visited for Sunday lunch and the whole experience was great!Our reservation was made online, straightforward to complete, I was able to select my chosen timeslot and received confirmation and one reminder which was greatly appreciated.We were met with a warm welcome, our reservation was acknowledged and our table was ready. The gent/host was friendly and politely chattered explaining the specials as we made our way to our table.The waiter that managed our table really should be proud of how well he presented himself, friendly, polite and very prompt - fab service!We ordered the Sunday lunch sharing platter for 2, which offered a good variety of extras such as cauliflower cheese, pigs in blanket and trio of meets. I certainly recommend this dish for a full and satisfying meal. The meal was delivered in good time, it was fresh, piping hot and full of flavour and genuinely could not find fault except that I was too full for pudding.Overall, I will be back and I can see The Golden Pheasant becoming a firm favourite.Friendly, Professional service, food that I highly recommend at reasonable prices, definitely go and visit.

I Went for a walk on the 'Plumley Rail Trail' and stumbled upon this pub before my train, lovely place with a friendly atmosphere and friendly staff, the food was lovely, i had the Three Cheese & Onion pie which was divine! I do recommend eating here, good place to go after the 'Railway Walk' nearby!

Ordered a roast platter for 2 . Unfortunately when the food arrived it was missing roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese. We enquired about the missing food only to be told that they had no cauliflower cheese and the roast potatoes would be 6 minutes more . We decided to send the food back as I consider the best part of the meal to be the two things that were missing .The food arrived back with 4 tiny boiled potatoes and was told that the chef burnt the potatoes .I cannot understand why the staff didn’t tell us when we ordered the meals At the end of the meal we were offered a coffee or dessert to compensate for the poor service … we politely declined both and left. The explanation given was that they had been very busy and ran out of ingredients. It’s a pity we hadn’t been told this before we ordered our food on both occasions .

The staff were very nice and also friendly and the location was lovely. The building was really attractive.The main course was great, but our desert was a nightmare. Someone in the kitchen had glazed the banana in our Banoffee Ice Cream desert with salt, instead of sugar. There were about 5 of us who had this problem. What sort of kitchen staff in a restaurant can't tell the difference between salt and sugar? They replaced our deserts but had I been the manager I would have apologised and said 'You can have your desert for free. We got no apology from the manager and the waiting on staff looked really embarrassed. I give this place 1 star and that us just for the nice location.

Lovely country spot with really great food. The free Tesla chargers are a massive bonus and what originally brought us in, but the cosy atmosphere, lovely staff and good quality food are what will bring us back. We sat in the bar area rather than the restaurant but actually liked that a lot!
