Everything tasted as good as it looked! Lovely place. Friendly service and a delicious reward for 9 locks before 11am!

Dog friendly, a lovely member of staff even came around asking us if our dog could have a treat. We had some lovely breakfast and a couple of hot drinks, after a nice walk by the canal which the cafe let us park in their spaces for.We would definitely return when in the area.

Great spot for some lunch, or coffee and cake, or an ice cream in the summer. There's always something to see on a walk along the canal.Good value and freshly made. Our baguettes were fresh out of the oven! 🙂Staff were friendly and polite. 👍

Bit disappointed with my first visit to this popular cafe yesterday.Nice location and service was good.I'm sure the presentation and selection of food is better than my example. However, I thought the poorly cooked sausage sandwich with a tired looking salad garnish was of a poor standard and extremely poor value for money.Coffee was nice though, so at least there was a positive to take away.

Stopped for a bit of lunch, lovely food, good service. It's also nice to sit outside and watch the canal boats go through the locks.

Beautiful setting right next to the locks. We got lucky as the locks were busy with narrow boats going up and down. The cafe has limited car park, otherwise the lay-by on the A41 will suffice, if you find a spot. Had to settle for tea and cheese with chilli sandwich. Would have liked the tea and scones but scones wrapped in plastic and looking flattish. They have an in dog staff member who looks more like the boss and looks like a character of his own. Good selection of tempting cakes on display .

Pleasant place to have a drink, ice cream, snack or meal next to a staircase of three locks. The pub has a front courtyard and gardens to the rear both parallel to the canal so the passing narrow boats add atmosphere and entertainment

Excellent cafe. Nice outside space by the canal. Great range of gluten free options which is important for me. Fantastic service including communication before my visit to check on gluten free options. The only negative is that the busy Chester Road is right along side. Can't do anything about that but just in case someone assumes that the canal side location equals peace and quiet! But that minor negative is completely outweighed by the great food and service.
