Went on Mother’s Day, and I have to say it was a little disappointing. Set menu was not cheap at £28 for 3 courses and for the price expected better. The starter was beetroot, walnuts and I think goats cheese which came out as mainly beetroot a couple of tiny walnuts and a dot of cheese! The Sunday roast beef although nice for what there was, veg was limited to 2 and hardly any gravy. Waitress noticed and said “would you like more gravy” to which we replied yes but it was never brought out! Paid the bill which seemed more expensive than it should have been. When I checked it we had been charged for 2 children's set meals at £10 each but only had one child with us. Overall not very impressed and wouldn’t rush back.

It was a birthday treat from my partner and she enjoyed it as much as l did. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. The beer is fabulous as was the food in the restaurant. Most of all the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Overall I would have to recommend a little weekend break at this lovely Cheshire Inn.

Nice pub with decent choice of local beers. We had some bar snacks and a few starters and sharer plates. All the food was really nice and well presented. Definitely worth a visit if you're on the area. Easy traffic free walk from the canal.

Stopped for lunch after walking along the canal from Middlewich. Sat outside as we had both dogs with us. We were toady warm under the heat lamp. Food was once again delicious, hubby enjoyed his pint of Cheshire Cat... Staff friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this gorgeous Inn 😊

One of the nicest eating experiences I have ever had. Very pleasant, helpful staff, and a great choice of beers. Can't wait to visit on a summer evening.😎👍

Probably one of the best pubs in England. Location, facilities,, extensive menu, gourmet lighter bites, service, real ale with staff that know their beer, dog friendly in the tap room, and great wines. Also accommodation. Treat their guests like locals.

An extremely poor experience. On arriving the winter menu wasn’t the same as shown on the website however as we’d booked a table we opted for the beef bourbignon. On being served the meal it didn’t look appealing, a blob of mash with a watery stew. This meal was tasteless and I certainly wouldn’t recommend; so unlike previous meals we have had here. Disappointing!

Gorgeous food. Cosy atmosphere. Attentive and polite staff. Good variety on the menu. When we left and our car failed to start, one of the waiters came out, moved his car to next to ours and helped us jump start it! Such great service. Definitely recommend for a nice meal out.

Nice recently updated pub in tiny village. Lovely hosts and great food, we only stayed for a pint and a cheese roll but food was beautifully presented and tasty. Lovely decor especially the lights on branches in the conservatory.... definitely returning to explore more food options. Well recommended

Great pub! Comfy bars (one that allows dogs) and lots of outdoor seating too.We just had a main. Which were as good as their menu descriptions. All but the biggest eaters will be happy without a starter or a pud. The quality was excellent, beautifully thoughtful flavour pairings were a joy! Did I mention the beer! A couple of well kept real ales made the visit most enjoyable! For boaters. We moored up at bridge 14, a busy road bridge. It felt like we put our life in trust of on coming traffic as we walked down the path less road to the Badger inn.Only to find the if we had continued to bridge 13 there is a public foot path over fields!
