The Bickerton Poacher in Cheshire East

The home cooked food here is amazing. The steak and beer pie is crammed with meat and is so filling. The desserts were also delicious, we had the cheesecake. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There is a play area to keep the kids busy as well and are kids had great fun!

Stayed here for the first time over the Easter Holidays. It’s a fantastic little site with a great pub to boot. The food was amazing. The live bands were great and the place had a great atmosphere. But what separates this pub/site from the rest for me was the staff. Every single one of them. So friendly and would go above and beyond without hesitation. Can’t wait to visit again.

I did not want to write a review on here however no response from my recent visit !HiI am not one to complain however I was very disappointed with the Sunday carvery yesterday with my partner and children having visited approx a month ago what a difference ?! . I can not fault the service which is always above and beyond . However the young chap carving the meat on the carvery yesterday afternoon ?! was he instructed to slice two thin slices of meat to accompany the pile of roast potatoes and homemade Yorkshire pudding ?! I am sure you have a portion controlfor the meat in place however my portion of meat was ridiculous. I ate my meal and small amount of meat I then asked the waitress could I return to the carvery for a little more meat and veg no problem the waitress replied . On walking upto the carvery the carver asked myself are you sure the waitress said I could have more meat he shrugged his shoulders raised his eyes and then continued to slice a slice of turkey an end bit of the turkey which was very tough which I did not eat . I am not after a free meal or anything of the kind and i will not post a negative review on trip advisor. However I will not recommend your carvery to family and friends in the area after yesterdays experience and I will not return . I am not telling yourself how to do your job however I would if I were in your shoes have a word with yesterdays carver not only his poor attitude but also the tiny portions .Thank you for listeningRegards

Stayed the night while hiking the sandstone trail. Really nice and friendly staff who looked after us. The bedroom was nice had three beds in it for are group The beer was good. The food was amazing far better then standard pub grub. Would definitely stay again. Thanks.

The welcome and service was amazing, and the location brilliant (even though it is on a main road and traffic went by it wasn't intrusive).The food though. Oh my, never have I been so jealous of the people who live close to a pub. It was plentiful, well cooked and oh so very tasty.If I lived closer I'd be eating there all the time. ❤️

Stopped on the way to Wales for a rest and something too eat. Burrito for the wife ... Linguine for me. Excellent meals. Lovely staff. Great find for us.Nice frame on the wall displaying the original deeds to John Smith and wife.

Absolutely delicious carvery. Everything piping hot fresh and cooked to perfection .lovely staff. Gorgeous surroundings. They even have a wishing well by the bar. Very reasonably priced. Dog friendly. Really enjoyed it we will definitely return 👍

Always a lovely visit to the Bickerton Poacher. Family friendly, cheery pub with very helpful staff and tasty food.Dog friendly with water stations for your 4 legged friends (and doggy sausages!).The staff are always really helpful and try to accommodate you in any way possible.

After a wet and muddy walk our family, 13 of us and 2 dogs, arrived for a late lunch. We couldn't fault the welcome even though it was very busy. The service was exceptional as was the food, with a menu to suit all our tastes. We all look forward to returning very soon.
